  • "Ricky Nelson Remembered" May 7th at the Fargo Theatre we chat with Ricky's son Matthew
It's the only family with 3 generations to hit the charts. Gunnar and Matthew Nelson will be appearing at the Fargo Theatre to feature the music and life stories of their father Ricky Nelson.
Before the Nelson family came to fame in the TV comedy "Ozzie and Harriet", their grandfather was an orchestra leader and their mother sang with them before they got married. Little Ricky and big brother David came along and the TV show was born which often feature Ricky with his music.
Now Ricky's twin sons who have been playing music for over 30 years, will appear at the Fargo Theatre with video, stories, and real life experiences about their father and his music.
Matthew gave us an update on his family including their actress sister Tracie, their late uncle David and his mother's side of the family, the Harmon's of sports and acting fame.
The show at the Fargo Theatre is May 7th, but get your tickets early because these guys can sing and I'm sure they'll go fast.

43 years ago in the Paul Newman Hockey film "Slap Shot" the world fell in love with the game and The Hanson Brothers".  A trio of goons who were brothers  called up from the Iron Range league to hook up with Charlestown Chiefs of the Federal League.
Dave Hanson, who was originally hired to play "Killer" Carlson, was later switched to portray one of the Hanson Brothers.  Says the film was a blast to make, There was nothing but fun on the set and he remained good friends with Paul Newman after shooting.
You'll never guess who was originally asked to play the role of Reg Dunlap before Newman. Dave also says a few of the scenes were taken from real life events.
Strother Martin and Michael Ontkean also started in this 1977 classic hit. The first of many sports films to start rolling out of Hollywood.

  • MeLissa Kossick reporting from Mardi Gras 2020
Former Host of KFGO's Metro Arts Scene MeLissa Kossick Anderson gives us the 2020 update from Mardi Gras in New Orleans. She along with her husband and young daughter live right on a portion of the parade route.
What is Mardi Gras? What goes into the preparation and design of the floats? What the heck is a Krewe? There's a lot more to the "beads story" than you think. How many crayfish could a person eat anyway?
Would you believe school is closed the entire week for Mardi Gras?
All these questions answer and more with MeLissa on the Mighty  790 KFGO's Nighttime Live!
