Episode 11 (Minutes 1:42:42 to 1:52:53):

This week falls backward a super long way down into Igor Karkaroff’s courtroom scene and a chaotic amount of paper stacks. We wonder about the rabid madness of Crouch Jr. and why everyone might seem so weary in this scene. The organization of Snape’s potion closet becomes an issue as well as Harry having yet another door slammed in his face by a faculty member.

This week swims us through the second task and the impressive underwater scenes. We admire most of this but have feelings about the dummy/puppet/wax figures… Also, Barty Crouch, Sr. is an odd character we can’t get a grip on from the movie. This week floats us into the Yule Ball and we have a LOT to say. Thankfully, we have our lovely guest Brian with us to help us break it all down from the costumes to the decor to the theories on the background teens. Who is McGonagall talking to saying they're late? Are students drinking at this event? And for the love, what is that creature on Moody’s kilt?!

Episode 7 (Minutes 1:02:45 to 1:12:12):

This week picks up at the end of the first task and has us wondering what happened to the corpse of the Hungarian Horntail?? As well as so many other questions about this chunk. We argue over Hogwarts merch and how friends and brothers actually make up after fights. We also joyfully discuss the concept of floating toast and why Filch is a thing…so it’s chaos but so much fun to discuss. Thanks again to our friend of the pod, Brock!

Episode 6 (Minutes 52:08 to 1:02:45):

This week clomps us into Moody’s office and creates so many questions about this space (does he live there? Are those all foe glasses?! What is in his hand?!) We witness the chaos of the first task and have even more possibly unanswerable questions about the dragons involved. Also, CGI Madame Maxime…good Lord. Buckle up!

This week swoops us up into the owlery for the first time to get a note from Sirius and bite from an asshole bird. We see fire breathing dragons in wooden crates, Neville in a loch, and a courtyard showdown that is…problematic. For many reasons. (Why is it always ferrets?!)

This week gathers us around the Goblet of Fire in anticipation of the choosing of the champions. We ponder this week how the Goblet makes its choices, Madame Maxime has a rough CGI treatment, and of course we discuss the infamous violence surrounding “DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE!?” We have always enjoyed that just oh so much.

We make it to Hogwarts where we have definite feelings about the two schools invited to the tournament, specifically their entrances and the weird arrival of Mad-Eye Moody. Can anyone explain the ceiling freakout?!
