Harvest Bible Chapel

We see in Psalm 130 that God answers those who call out to Him in their hour of despair and sustains them. When we walk through seasons of hardships, seasons of waiting, we can trust that God is both good and able to use even the hardest of circumstances. We watch and wait with confidence!

When our best-made plans do not go as planned, we can trust that God redirects us, not to harm us, but to “build” according to His plan and purposes. Why?

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." He is the one in charge here!

We welcome you to check out Harvest Bible Chapel at one of our six locations across Chicago. You can watch the full service online on YouTube in our series on the Psalms of Ascent.

Beginning our new series, we open our Bibles to the Psalms of Ascent.

In Psalm 121, we see that God will be with us and watch over us wherever we go and whatever we do. So we can be bold in faith and be encouraged in pain.

Elijah’s ministry was one of great power, but also of great pressure and responsibility. We find in 2 Kings, Elijah passes the mantle of his ministry to Elisha. We see the same God who answered the prayer by sending fire from heaven…the same God who encouraged the discouraged prophet... and carry Elijah away on chariots of fire, remain faithful to Elisha as he continues the ministry.

In 1 Kings 19:1-18, we discover God responds to the discouraged. Elijah arrives in Beersheba discouraged and depleted, and God sustains him, speaks to him, and sends him out with purpose and power.
