The question “How big is your but” is not a question that should address our physical stature, but rather one to get us to think about the reality of how much we truly trust God in every area of our life; do we throw a “but” at the end of our proclamations?

In the next few weeks we will be looking at a few examples of “Big Buts” in scripture and see if we can learn where the fear, or doubt comes from so that we don’t fall into the same trap.

The main purpose of this series is to help bring us to an understanding that unless we are convicted by the illumination of truth by the Holy Spirit about our life, any effort on our part will not bring about the lasting transformation we are seeking. It may work for a while…until the first winds of adversity blow against us and we fall with a huge crash!

Do you know what a parable is? A parable is an illustrative story based on a common experience that is used to highlight spiritual truths so that people can understand them better. Jesus used this method of preaching very effectively, which is why we are taking a few weeks to talk about some of the teaching parables He used.
