March 26, 2020 COVID-19 Hawaii Update - Lieutenant Governor Doctor Josh Green
Today Hawaii reached a significant milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic as we surpassed 106 confirmed cases of the disease in our islands. As the coronavirus continues to spread, putting thousands at risk for developing COVID-19, it's hard to imagine when this will all end. We want to know if we're doing enough and if enough, will EVER be enough. At the forefront of Hawaii's COVID-19 task force, is Lt. Governor Josh Green. He's an outspoken healthcare professional who admittedly has a hard time switching roles between doctor and politician. As a result, at times, he's found himself at odds with the Governor. We talk to the Lieutenant Governor about finding that balance, and his passion for helping save lives. Also joining us on the show is Dr. Scott Miscovich. Dr. Miscovich has been at the forefront of Hawaii's prevention campaign by conducting the first drive-through testing sites. We ask what that process is like, and cringe at the answer. Dr. Josh Green is a local doctor, husband, and father of two who has spent his life caring for Hawaii families. After completing his medical training, Green joined the National Health Corps and started his life's work as a family physician and ER doctor in rural hospitals and clinics on the Big Island. In 2009 he was named "Hawaii Physician of the Year." Dr. Scott Miscovich is a Family Practitioner with several offices and clinics across the state. His staff volunteers countless hours and donates tests for those who are uninsured. He believes everyone who needs a coronavirus test should get it. To date, his team has tested thousands of symptomatic patients on several islands. He's answered questions for and counseled thousands more.

Her singing style's compared to Eli Mac, and Jasmin Nicole is currently working on a collaboration with Eli. Likkle Jordee was discovered by Eli Mac in 2016 and performed with her on the song "Nighttime Session." Jordee has performed for Damian Junior Gong Marley, J-Boog, and Lauryn Hill. He's teamed up with Kahala Records/LIVE Animaux Studio and Tantriq Entertainment. His song "Cool and Deadly" is playing on Island 98.5-FM. Both Jasmin and Likkle are playing at Deck at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel on Sunday, February 23rd, for Sunset Sessions, which coincidently is also our word of the day. January 23, 2020 DJ Daniel J Tribute with James Coles, G-Spot, SoundSex
In this episode, we talk to people influenced by DJ Daniel J. Legendary local house DJ Daniel J recently passed away.
In the 1980s, Daniel J introduced Honolulu to the then-new electronic dance music genre of house music. Not only was he the 1st DJ to spin house music in Hawaii, but he was also the 1st person in Hawaii to throw a commercial rave in 1992 at Pinks Garage. He was the 1st promoter in Hawaii to fly out DJs from the Mainland, the 1st DJ to convince a local radio station (KIKI Hot i-94) that a nightclub-style mix show would be commercially viable (presenting an appearance on the station in 1988). He was resident DJ at the seminal Wave Waikiki & Hula’s Bar & Lei stand nightclubs. He teamed up with G-Spot, later on, to help out with Love Festival.
Hawaii nightlife owes a considerable debt to Daniel J. All of today’s guests have a long history in nightlife with daniel. DJ James Coles was part of the House music scene Daniel helped create. Daniel was the first big-name DJ Flash booked at his nightclub. Maleko's first experience in a radio studio was when he visited Daniel at Radio Free Hawaii. G-Spot traveled down the highway Daniel created, throwing raves from the mid to late 1990s. Miko (DJ SoundSex) got his first taste of the DJ life tagging along with his older brother Keoki (Superstar DJ) at a gig Daniel booked him to play in the late '90s and early 2000s.
Collectively this show spans 28 years of Daniel J's life, love, and influence in Hawaii. Enjoy.
