We talk to the Artistic Director of HIFF about the program, how films get chosen, and who the special guests are this year. This podcast is in honor of & celebrating the birthday of the late owner of next door & SoHo, both iconic Chinatown clubs, who passed away from stage 4 brain cancer in 2016, Daniel Gray. His birthday would have been September 5th. Daniel was also best friends with super CW. Together they founded the Aloha Cancer Project, a charity that helps people diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones navigate that new world. NextDoor invites everyone to Dougie for Daniel fundraiser concert for the aloha cancer project this Thursday, September 5th, 2019, at NextDoor. 

The fundraiser will include a live music line up including Mike Izon, DNA Music & surprise guests. Daniel's favorite song was "Teach Me How To Dougie" by Cali Swag District. The artist, OFB Yung from Cali Swag District, will be performing this song for Daniel as we Dougie in his honor. We strongly suggest you come early to view the last project Christa worked on before passing. The seminal documentary "The Adventures of Super CW - Cancer Sucks," part of which was filmed at NextDoor, will be shown at 6:30 pm. This will be the 1st time it's been screened since it's debut at Hawaii international film festival.
