#333: Lacey Tisch was born with a rare congenital syndrome that causes a slew of medical setbacks, some of which continue to affect her health today. Throughout the years, she received many external treatments. Seven years ago, she began dealing with medical PTSD...a result of years of being poked and prodded by doctors to “fix” her. The medical PTSD was exacerbated by being unhappy in her job and actively engaging in her alcoholism. She could not figure out a way forward. After getting sober, Lacey wanted to find remedies that didn’t require taking medication or having procedures. She developed a major interest in exploring wellness.
Lauren Zucker is a dancer, and lifelong fitness and wellness enthusiast, who spent two decades working in the music and talent management industries. Lauren always thought her life would be lived linearly, that things would go according to a certain plan that included work, marriage, and kids. And then, life happened. Several people close to her were struggling with addiction and were in denial about it. She was also going through a painful divorce. After years of trying to ‘fix’ and help others, she realized, ultimately, she could only change herself.
She made the decision to fully commit to her own path of healing. This sparked curiosity about all things self-development, healing, and wellness. She met with practitioners and self-discovery experts all over the world in search of peace and happiness, reaching the conclusion that a sense of community and connecting with like-minded people was the most integral part of her healing journey.
