When live is going good; things are stable and balanced, and you are operating in healthy ways...we have the ability to take on more without becoming overwhelmed & stressed out.
BUT sometimes, in some seasons, we need to recognize that we need to switch plates. Our ‘backup’ plate has on the essentials, the things we cannot let go of (like keep us and our kids alive for example lol) sometimes it’s just the bare minimum.
This plate does not have anything extra on it. In seasons of high stress, change, overwhelm...we need to pull back, and switch plates in order to survive without falling apart. If we don’t, The more we take on will allow us to avoid and/or cripple us and in the end...the plate will break.
So today’s Mental Health Hack is to SWITCH PLATES when the going gets tough, and only focus on the essentials to stay away from overwhelm, unrealistic expectations and pressure.
