And what's even more crazy is that that record only held up for 46 days before an Australian John Lardy would break it with 3:57.9. Since then many men and women and even high schoolers have broken the 4 minute mile barrier.
And what is so incredible is that before this even happened, experts had believed and touted that the human body was incapable of such a feat. And that, “Further legends hold that people had tried for over a thousand years to break the barrier, even tying bulls behind them to increase the incentive to do the impossible” (Click here for link). So what changed and what does this mean for you and for me?
That the “impossible” is simply a thought, a belief you get to decide if it is true or not. Just because it had never been done did not meant it COULDN’T be done.
The human brain is meant to do 4 things:

Latter-day Life Coach Directory Summitt:
Hello and welcome back!
First off, I want to express how grateful I am for you being here.
Yesterday, as I was praying and meditating, I felt such gratitude for what I get to do and at the same time, my heart hurt for so many seeking what I have to offer and not being able to find me.
So I want to ask you to help me to find those that are feeling heavy - heavy from their marriage, from their separation and divorce, from their faith that feels like its failing them. Whatever it is, will you send them my way? Will you send them to my podcast and to my instagram site? I’ll link all of this in the show notes. I’m not too hard to find!
As I have been thinking about how to extend my reach to more people, more women seeking a deeper and more personal relationship with God, our Father in Heaven and Christ…
I could tell that my brain wanted to be afraid of the pain of that effort.
I have found that when I’m honestly acknowledging these thoughts and feelings, I’m actually opening up the spiritual wisdom within and the spiritual wisdom of God.
And what He taught me got me to see fear, pain, and even hardship in a new light and I want to share all of this with you.
So let me share with you my conversation with you with God….
Christ took upon Himself the cross so that you could take upon His yoke.
He took it alone so you could partner with Him.
This is all He asks.
So simple.
So small.
You are ALWAYS yoked with Him.
You don't have to ask.
You don't have to beg.
He just did it. He is always there.
Will you see Him?
Will you feel Him?
Will you come to know Him?
You are never alone.
That yoke is a covenant connection that He has made with you.
I felt such a deep feeling of gratitude for what He did for me, for you, for all of the human family.
I am only asked to acknowledge the yoke and to use that as a means of letting Christ help me with whatever I am meant to carry and create. It is the only way.
Now, as I was pondering upon the significance of partnering with Christ, the word “yoke” stood out at me and knowing me…I’m going to do some digging on this word. Starting with looking up the aramaic definition of this word (click here for more insights: Yoke)
In the Bible
The yoke was usually made from a circular wooden halter which was placed on the animal's neck, and harnessed to a plow, cart, or other vehicle. The ordinary yoke was designed for two animals, but yokes for only one animal were also common.
The yoke was a symbol of servitude in the Bible.

Bonus podcast everyone!
So I have to tell you that I’m doing what we call “resolutions” differently and this is something that…well….I kinda stumbled onto it and I want to share it with you. Now I don’t know if this will resonate with any of you but I hope that something about this will cause you to consider how you want to approach the new year.
So I’m in a Whatsapp chat group with several of my coaching cohorts. One of them was sharing how she was interviewed by the BBC for not buying clothes for a whole year. What??
Really? People do that? And of course I’m sure that some of you listening to this does that. But that was not me. And yet, I was so intrigued. Why would she do this? Why would anyone do this intentionally? So the curious side of me won and I just had to experience what this was like. And so I decided in December of 2021 that I was going to do it. I was going to intentionally not buy clothes - including underwear and socks for a full year!
I remember at the beginning of 2022, I walked into Marshalls for the sole purpose of looking at clearance items. And I started to…..you guessed it…put clothes in my cart. It wasn’t until like the 3rd or 4th item that I remembered my intention of not buying clothes. Oh my goodness….remembering that was SO HARD! And I was trying to talk myself out of not committing to it. In all honesty, I have to tell you…..I decided that I would take them into the dressing room and if one of them fit then I’d buy just the one and restart my intention. But seriously, as I was walking in circles…literally in circles, I couldn’t talk myself into going into the dressing room. So I put all the clothes back and walked out.
I don’t think I have ever done that.
It felt so…..uncomfortable. Not my norm.
And after that, I began to notice something that I had not noticed before.
The moments I wanted to go shopping for clothes - whether it was Marshalls, Costco, wherever…I was trying to bandage my uncomfortable emotions of shame, blame, resentment, anger. I know, weird right? I seriously was seeking that dopamine hit of finding that cute top or sweater or whatever to not be present with what was really going on inside my head and heart.
As I’m sharing this with you, I am so amazed at this truth that I discovered about myself. And seriously, who really wants to sit with these emotions? But there is wisdom in doing so. I learned so much about myself from doing this. It didn’t become some “New Year’s Resolution” but something I decided to do out of curiosity and that something inside me, deep in me wanted to do this. Let me share with you what I learned from doing this for a full year:
I had no idea that this is what I'd come to know for myself. I am so grateful to have a clearer and more honest awareness of my humaness so that I can begin to make the changes that will more closely align myself with my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Hello and welcome back!
How was your Christmas? How was your New Years?
had my kids this year and it was so fun!
Now last year, I didn’t have them and yet it was a very memorable holiday and I honestly didn’t think anything could beat that but being with my kids was so fun!
I’ve been on the lookout for starting traditions around the holidays and a remembered something that me and my siblings would do before we all got married….we would go out to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve then come back to my parent’s place and just hang out.
I really loved those moments with my siblings and so I wanted to start that tradition up again but with my own family.
So that’s what we did…and either the food was really good or my kids were super hungry…or maybe both….but we ate and ate…so fast! It was so fun to just eat and try new things and have a great time together. And if you know me, you know that food and connection and gathering around food is sooo important to me.
Then after that, we went to Duke Chapel and attended the 5pm Christmas Eve service. It was gorgeous and the music was….sublime. You can’t beat those cathedrals when it comes to musical resonance.
Then my daughter wanted soft serve ice cream afterwards - Dairy Queen for the win!!..although they were getting ready to close shop. Thank you Dairy Queen for serving us anyway!
Afterwards, we exchanged secret santa gifts. So fun, right?
On Christmas Day, the kids decided that they didn’t want to open presents until after church.
Hung out.
Napped
Watched my in-law’s church program
Then had our dinner
Whew!!.....I loved allll of it!
You know, it’s natural to think or deeply about our Savior, Jesus Christ during this time of year.
I was on a call with a good friend of mine and she asked herself this question:
“Who am I because of Jesus?”
It was such a simple and profound question that I stole it from her and asked my kid’s that question along with myself. The answers ranged from, “I’m not sure” to what they were and what they were not.
So now I want to ask you that question, “Who are you because of Jesus?”
And as you’re pondering your answer, I want you to consider answering in the form of, “I am___”.
I’ve been reviewing the journal entries for this past year and I was amazed at how many entries I wrote about who I am or at least the discovery of who I am
So I wanted to pull a few out to share with you.
I am someone who has human experiences
I am worth loving
I am worth dying for
I am worth fighting for
I am capable of deep love
I am a teacher

Latter-day Life Coach Directory Summitt:
Hey everyone! Welcome back! O.k., so at the time of this episode recording, it is 13 days away from Christmas! I cannot believe that 2022 is just about over. How did that happen? LOL.
Ok, before I dive into what I want to share with you today, I want to give you a heads up that I have an amazing gift for many of you. I’ll share that with you at the end of the episode. It will be worth it my friend!
So I wanted to share with you something that was revealed to me this morning during my meditation and journaling of my prayers. Meditation and prayer in the form of journaling is something I’ve been doing for some time.
Anyway, as I was sitting down and focusing on my breathing and leaning into my Spirit Wisdom, I felt such a deep sense of gratitude. Why? I was seeing how God was answering my questions that I had presented to Him these last few days.
One of them was, “What is it that You want me to believe that I do not yet see with my own mortal eyes?” The other one, “What is Your framework for understanding You and the Inherent Divinehood of ourselves?” Now these questions came up from my conversations with God. I’ve come to learn that He will either answer now or later and no amount of bribing and convincing will change His will which I’m mostly o.k. With - Ok. In all honesty, I like things “now” and I’m totally ok that my human brain wants that. I just choose to acknowledge it and still wait upon God.
Anyway, this morning, I was recognizing all the many ways He was answering those two questions these last few days. And so I couldn’t help to express my gratitude for His wisdom in teaching me and answering my questions that my brain can understand and implement. I just want to share a portion of my journaling with you……
I am so grateful you created me!
I am so grateful to have been created and to create here on earth an eternity I want to experience. Now I know when He will take hold of my hand and write out His wisdom. That last line was His wisdom. To see this earthlife from the lens of eternal creation blew my mind. Maybe you already knew that and maybe God has to tell me in 10 different ways and in 10 different times what purpose of this earthlife is. But can I say that I never tire of Him teaching me simple and eternal principles of my mortal existence?
So to really sit with the possibility and right now, you AND I can create on earth an eternity that you and I want to experience. We don’t have to wait for the second coming of Christ. We don’t have to wait till “rapture”. We don’t have to wait till we die and go onto our next phase of our existence to begin living an eternal experience. This begins now. Now is the time to decide what it is you want to experience in your eternal state.
Is it love?
Is it joy?
Is it peace?
Is it a greater family connection?
Is it healing?
Is it forgiveness of our past and the past of others who have hurt us and harmed us?
Is it healing for old wounds?
Maybe it’s healing of the mind, heart, body, soul.
I know that those possibilities are there. Why?

As Spiritual Beings, we have been sent to earth to learn (not earn) to communicate with God in a tangible way. We have all the spiritual tools to access this ability for communicative revelation but sometimes - actually, a lot of the time, the thoughts and stories we tell ourselves become static noise to the spiritual whisperings of God.
We are meant to live into the rights and privileges of revelation and to be the women of God we were always meant to be, no matter our status in this life.
I coach women going through separation and divorce achieve peace, confidence, and love for self as you are navigating your separation and divorce by teaching you how to create a revelatory relationship with God.

The difference between fixed and growth mindset by Dr. Dweck and what that has to do with how we think about ourselves.
Gordon B. Hinckley said this, “Never forget…that you are really a child of God, who has inherited something of this divine nature, one whom He loves and desires to help and bless.”
Just from that quote, who would you say you are in relations to God?
How do you think He would describe you, as one of his divine daughters?
If you don’t know, then I want you to seek Him out and find out for yourself how He thinks about you and feels about you.
Start having consistent conversations with Him.
Everyday, shut yourself in your closet for 15 a day and just write or turn off your mind and drop into your heart space and focus on your breathing.
And then throughout the day
Hear Him - Spirit
See Him - His Hand
Feel Him - His love
Remember Him - His constant goodness
Be open to the possibility that there is a God that wants and desires to communicate with you His love for you. I know that He does. Because if He can love me with my flaws and misunderstandings, then I know He loves you so very much.

Want a stronger relationship with your teen?
Want to stop feeling worried and disconnected with your teen and to start parenting with more confidence and deeper connection?
The problem is, most parents don’t know how; and, most parenting advice is actually bad parenting advice, like:
“How to get your TEEN to stop . . . ______.” (You fill in the blanks.)
“How to get your TEEN to start . . . ______.”
. . . OR . . .
“Parent this way, so your TEEN will . . . ______.”
The problem is, most parenting advice isn’t even focused on the parent.
Instead, it’s focused on fixing, changing, or controlling the TEEN.
And, here’s a little secret . . .
. . . NO ONE wants to be fixed, changed, or controlled, especially your teen.
Fixing, changing, and/or controlling your teen doesn’t work.
If you want a better relationship with your teen, stop trying outdated parenting styles that don’t work, and start doing the one simple thing that works every time!
Start BEING the change you want to see, yourself.
