Susan decided to go back to work when her kids were all in school. She got hired as a receptionist at a law firm in Salt Lake then accepted a position as a paralegal and found that she was very good at it.
Utah State Legislature changed law in 2018; they introduced the Licensed Paralegal Practitioners (LPP) program in an effort to help with the financial burden that comes with getting legal help in divorce.
After passing the LPP Bar Exam and other requirements from the Utah State Bar, non-lawyers could be licensed to practice law in specific areas. Family Law is one of those designated areas.
Sue has been working in Family Law industry for nearly 4 years and passed the LPP Bar Exam in the state of Utah, she is licensed to practice Family Law.
There are other states with similar programs, Washington and Arizona as well as Minnesota. Oregon and Colorado are creating similar programs.
Sue practices family law in the state of Utah as a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner. She is not an attorney. (THIS MUST BE INCLUDED)
