In this episode I share with you all of the dos and don'ts that I PERSONALLY find helpful or not when others are reaching out to support me. As we honor SA Awareness Month (SAAM), it is important to educate ourselves in the ways that we can support survivors. The things shared aren't clinical or professional resources/advice but my own personal experiences, feelings, and beliefs based off of being a CSA victim myself. I've navigated and journeyed with my trauma for over a decade now so I'd say I have a pretty good insight on what's helpful and what's triggering. I hope you tune in to find out how to not just be a good friend, but a great one.â¡

In this episode I share my thoughts about how having a productive and safe space growing up would be super helpful if things like SA happens. I share how I feel about my parents in this area and how I approached coming out to them was because I wanted to live, but not because they created a safe space for me. The point I am trying to relay here is to prepare or check yourself as a parent and create a safe space so god forbid if this ever happens to your child that they are comfortable and feeling you are a safe space for them to go to. We can't keep our eye on them 24/7 and we can't prevent everything harmful from happening, but we can be here for them sooner than later or it's too late even if things like this does happen. I hope this brings awareness. As a CSA survivor myself, I believe if my parents created a productive and safe space for me, a lot of this could've been prevented and I could've started my healing way sooner.

In this episode I share about my experiences with finally starting psychotherapy. I share about the challenges I faced to get to this moment (medical insurance, limited resources, added stress etc.). I take you into some of the topics that were discussed between me and my therapist such as education and a little about my CSA trauma.
Ever since discovering about myself being an assaulted as a child, I've always navigated through the challenges of recovering and healing by myself. I never had a professional help me directly, therefore, this is a very big moment in my CSA journey to finally be able to access this kind of resource. Join me as I take you along this journey of mine and maybe it can help you heal areas you didn't know needed healing as well.

âšPrepare for making life or death decisions for yourself and your loved ones.âš
Being in a vulnerable state and making life or death decisions for someone else was not what I had planned. It's a responsibility I wish no one has to deal with during their most vulnerable state.
