For the 89th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we’re talking about Healthcare GIS (Geographic Information System Mapping).  After spending a couple days at the healthcare focused event put on by Esri, I came to realize with more depth all that GIS could offer healthcare.  Plus, Healthcare GIS is much more than maps and includes a whole ecosystem of data and solutions which does more than just layer data on a map.  Sure, maps are valuable and data on top of a map can paint a picture nicely, but combining data with geo locations can bring out fantastic insights into that data that couldn’t be discovered otherwise.  In this episode, we dive into the topic of GIS in healthcare including how a healthcare organization should be approaching GIS and some of our favorite healthcare GIS use cases.
