God Gives Women Their Roles of Authority: A Devotional Look at Mary- Day 1
Today we are starting a new format of 5 short devotional thoughts throughout the week to help you stay connected to God’s word in a way that is quick, easy. My hope is that meditating on God’s word in the morning will help you to stay connected with Him throughout the day.
This audio devotional is a companion to the She Hears Bible Study, today’s content is from Chapter 1- Mary- A Woman of Authority.
From today’s episode:
Heart Check: Is there any bitterness or unforgiveness you are holding onto from someone judging you? Perhaps unfairly? Or have you jumped to conclusions about someone else based on one interaction? If so, let’s take that to the Lord and deal with it so we can get our hearts clear.
Mary had authority because God gave her authority. Authority is a gift from God.
Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast.
Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God’s voice or if it’s really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life?
Hey, I’m your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God’s voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn’t quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn’t qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do.
The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God’s word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life.
Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His.
The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open.
Join me for your daily dose of faith, honesty, and prayer.

Leaving Vengeance to God. How Psalm 58 Reminds Us that God Will Deal With Evil
As we go through the Psalms, we see David deal with some powerful emotions. In Psalm 58, we see David pray for vengeance to be done on behalf of the righteous. While this may sound harsh, we have to remember that we serve a just God who will deal with evil.
Today’s Key Verse:
Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth. Psalm 58:11

In many of the Psalms, David is running from Saul, who wants to kill him. While that may be more intense than what we experience, we all know what it’s like to run from something. Psalm 57 gives us a picture of how to respond in those moments of waiting. I pray this episode blesses you.

Feeling the Weight of Guilt and Shame From Sin? We All Have. It’s Why We Need Jesus. How Psalm 51 Points Us to Repentance
We have all experienced times in our lives when we have messed up. Sin separates us from God, and there are consequences for our sins. But, we have a God who longs to restore us and create in us a new, clean heart. Today we look at how David came to God in His brokenness, and we can see how God longs for us to come to Him with our sin.
Today’s Key Verse:
Create in me a new heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
