They talk about the crisis point the United States had reached in the time between Lincoln’s election and his journey to Washington, D.C. for his inaugural, and how Lincoln’s journey, in a way, compares to the journey of Odysseus in Homer’s Odyssey. The also talk about the many speeches Lincoln makes on his journey, as well as myriad other travails, and how Lincoln’s arrival in Washington and his inaugural really signify the first victory of the Union against the forces of secession. Further, they discuss the importance of Euclid, the Founders (George Washington especially), and the Declaration of Independence in the formulation of Lincoln’s political thought and his conception of the American nation.

Scott Brooks, Tyson Foods senior vice president of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, and Dr. Daniel Castillo, chief medical officer at Matrix Medical Network, discuss the use of data science to stay ahead of the COVID-19. The two explain how the program will work, the team Tyson has hired to support the program, whether such a program has been used before, how Tyson will measure success, the possibility of false results, contact tracing and how the workforce is responding to the program.

Dr. Castillo discusses whether such a program could work in other large settings such as college campuses, sport teams, gyms and other large institutions. Brooks also discusses Tyson’s experience with COVID so far (less than 1 percent of workforce have an active case) and how large employers are managing the human resource concerns of the pandemic.

Karl Marx and his socialist ideology are often thought of, even by critics, as well-meaning and compassionate, but the truth is, Marx was not motivated by compassion or kindness. In fact, he was an incredibly harsh critic of the world's poorest people.
