  • “Come out of her, My people” Show ~ Mark Call weekly

Returning special guest Brent Winters, “The Common Lawyer,” joins us again this week to talk about some aspects of “law” that some of us may legitimately wonder about: Given what has been done to “Truth, Justice, and the American Way,” do they even still matter any more?

And, even today, the answers should be encouraging. And certainly vital.

  • Mark Call – Parsha “Debarim” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

The annual cycle reading for this week begins a new Book, and the final Book, in the Torah, or Books of Moses, and it also marks the final chapter, and month of his life. It is also something of a valedictory, in that it is a speech which is both his last address, as well as a summary of what has come before, and more.

Parsha “Devarim,” (Devarim or Deuteronomy chapters 1 through 3) is, very literally HaDebarim, or The Words, that Moshe spoke to ‘kol Israel,’ as they prepared to enter the land.

The English name for the Book suggests that it is a ‘second reading’ or summary, of the Torah, or Instruction delivered through Moses, but many students of His Word have suggested that the structure of the Book is that of a covenant treaty, between a King and His vassals.

And this parsha lays the groundwork.

    The Erev Shabbat reading:

As Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship has often noted, the single Book of Deuteronomy itself is not only recognized as the foundation for the English, later American, Common Law, but is also THE most quoted reference by the Founders and the ‘Committees of Correspondence’ in our founding era.

Is this a Covenant that still applies to His people? His Remnant must understand.

WARNING: This is a blunt message, because time draws short – and strong language.

  • “Come out of her, My people” Show ~ Mark Call weekly

Last week, the them was “Fake vs. Real,” – from fake presidents to fake protection, even including fake gods.

This week, given that the level of unbelievable Big Lies being pushed by fake news media and their puppeteers has simply gotten ever more ridiculous, host Mark Call begins with the question, just how much more ‘over-the-top’ can it actually get?

And if AmeriKans really have gotten THAT stupid, why isn’t “come out of her” the only remaining option?

  • Mark Call – Dbl Parsha “Matot/Masei” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

This week, the regular reading cycle includes a “double portion,” Matot/Masei (Numbers 30:2 through the End of the Book)

There are elements in this final part of the Book of Numbers that range from the politically-incorrect to the almost esoteric.

The first section, in Numbers chapter 30, has to do with not just “vows,” but “all that proceeds” from our mouths. Is He serious? Do fathers and husbands REALLY have that kind of authority over their wives and daughters?

And the masei – ‘stages,’ or journeys – described in chapter 33 at such length: what is the point of such a long list?

The Erev Shabbat reading outlines WHAT is evidently so important:

    https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/SSM-8-2-24-Double-parsha-Matot-Masei-teaching-podcast-xx.mp3

As Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship tries to make clear in the reading, the “words from our mouths,” ARE vitally important. And yet far too many just don’t understand how vital our own word is, and the Authority that He gave to husbands is, not only in marriage, but as foundation for a free society.

Which may make the contrast with the volumes of interpretation, ‘spiriitualization,’ and even almost gnostic mysticism surrounding the number 42 of those ‘stagest’ even more startling.

How can we be tempted to read SO much into what some might dismiss as “numerololgy,” gematria, or even ‘witchcraft’ in part of the story, while dismissing clear, undeniable intent from another?

It’s all clearly delineated in His Word. But what might be called “Biblical Patriarchy” is an understanding upon which all true societal Authority is ultimately based. And we have just plain ignored it for too long.

So many things have been revealed as utter fakes lately.

A fake ‘president’ installed by a fake election.

Fake ‘protection’ to cover a botched hit.

And now a fake female boxer beating the literal snot out of a real young woman.

There’s a message here, and it shows the way to so many other fakes that helped get us here.

  • Mark Call – Parsha “Balak” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Most people probably remember this story based on the name of the character who talked to YHVH more than the King for whom the parsha [“Balak” (Numbers 22:2-25:9)] is named.

More memorable, still, is “Balaam’s Talking Ass” – who isn’t actually named in story at all – but has registered as one of the most colorful, even humorous, vignettes in Scripture. And probably even influenced the language over time.

First, the Erev Shabbat reading of the story itself, and the ‘cliff-hanger’:

    https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/SSM-7-19-24-Balak-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3

Most of the studies of this portion tend to focus either on the blessing(s) given by the most prominent, but arguably pagan, ‘seer’ of his day over the mixed multitude of Israel, or on the actions at the end of this part of the story by Pinchas (aka Phineas in most English Bibles) for which he was given the “Covenant of Peace,” by YHVH.

But Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship suggests that this year, in particular, it’s what Bilaam did to get himself killed that merits a deeper look.

Because it should hit very, VERY close to home today.

    The Sabbath Day midrash:

“Balak: ‘It all depends on what the meaning of the word ‘curse‘ is. And by whom.”

  • Mark Call – Parsha “Chukat” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Parsha “Chukat” (Numbers chapters 19 through 22:1) is, in at least one way, the second parsha in a sequence that arguably has to do with “rebellion.” Although in a very different way.

And virtually every element of this one, from the ‘chuq’ of the ‘red heiffer’ – which even King Solomon was believed to have found enigmatic – to aspects of the story responsible for Moses being forbidden from entering the Promised Land, are at least “confusing.”

The lessons are vital regardless, and perhaps even especially.

    The Erev Shabbat reading:

    https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/SSM-7-12-24-Chukat-teaching-podcast-xx.mp3

The Sabbath Day midrash is all about that confusion.

The perplexing Red Heiffer is something of a ‘spiritual Inverter’ – it makes clean things UN-clean, while making those unclean clean again. And its death somehow helps restore from death.

Moses’ anger, however, is certainly a bit easier for us to understand. He’s heard the same ‘whining’ before. And he’s also the only man who, as we were just told, spoke to YHVH Himself, mouth-to-mouth. And the instruction he received here, at least in hindsight, certainly seem clear.

No doubt he was held to a “higher standard.” But the real key to what MIGHT seem like a harsh punishment is linked to words that are at the very heart of this story!

He called people, “you REBELS!” – Hebrew root word, “mara” – in his fury. And is the very same word that YHVH turned on him in pointed rebuke for what marked his greatest failure. But there seems to be even more to the ‘rest of the story.’

  • Mark Call – Parsha “Korach” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Parsha “Korach” (Numbers chapters 16 through 18) is – outside of perhaps Genesis chapter 3 – the per-eminent story in Scripture about “rebellion.

And it comes during the very same week when at least a few remaining Americans celebrate the most successful “rebellion” in modern history, also known as the American Revolution, in the War for Independence. But the contrast is illustrative!

    The Erev Shabbat reading:

    https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/SSM-7-5-24-Korach-teaching-podcast-xx.mp3

The Sabbath Day midrash asks a number of questions about that fatal rejection of the “anointed of YHVH.” Starting with, what could that guy POSSIBLY be thinking? Overthrow Moses?

But we don’t have anything even remotely close to such a leader, especially not one who follows the One, True, Creator, but instead – we seem to have a Whore Church that preaches the “Government-Inspired Version” (GIV) of Romans 13, in complete contradiction to the rest of Scripture. And despises the “Rule of Law” to boot!

Were the American Founders in “rebellion”? And to Whom? How do we reconcile what APPEAR to be contradictions?
