David Justice and Mark Call discuss the major news of the week, and some practical considerations for the Meltdown-in-Progress.
It’s past time to talk about the ’causes’ of how we got here.
And many of the Lies, too, have gotten pretty obvious.
Love and Torah – what’s love got to do with it? This study series is based on the “Two Great Commands” – love Yahweh and love your neighbor.
After a brief review of what we’ve learned so far, Rabbi Steve Berkson continues in Ephesians chapter 4, clarifying the apostle Paul’s instructions to followers of Messiah Yeshua about what is expected of them, and of us today, in how to conduct ourselves as those who will inherit the reign of Elohim and Messiah.
• What does it mean, “having put off the false, and speak truth”? (Eph 4:25)
• How can one be “wroth, but do not sin”? (Eph 4:26)
• What does it mean to “give place to the devil”? (Eph 4:27)
• What would be considered a “corrupt word”? (Eph 4:29)
• How could one “grieve the Set-Apart Spirit (Holy Spirit)”? (Eph 4:30)
• What is meant by “sealed for the day of redemption”?
• What is Elohim-Level forgiveness? (Eph 4:32)
• Imitate Elohim–how do I do that? (Eph 5:1)
• How does one “walk in love”? (Eph 5:2)
• Do you know how to make Elohim happy?
Rabbi Berkson once again dissects the words in these passages so that you will have a deeper understanding of what Yah expects of you, so that you can do it and receive the blessings.

If we are to be a kingdom of priests and a holy or set-apart nation with Y’shua as our King and High Priest what could the story of King Hezekiah’s Passover tell us about ourselves and what we should be, or should have been, doing between the 1st and 2nd Passovers? Consider… King Hezekiah could be (and I believe that he is) a picture of Y’shua Messiah in this story of Hezekiah’s Second Passover. Hezekiah’s Second Passover I believe is a prophetic picture of a future Second Passover when Y’shua drinks “this cup anew with us in His Father’s Kingdom”. (Matt 26:29). We will read and comment on this amazing story today and also point out some amazing parallels in Ezekiel Chapter 11 that we believe are connected to the second Passover and second Greater Exodus! Parsha “Metzora” (Leviticus chapters 14 through 15) is the conclusion to the study of something which does not even exist anymore – the ‘plague’, or malady, or skin disease once called “tzaraat.” But maybe the world would be better of if it did. Or at least people behaved as if it still did.
Is it just possible that there is more here than we’ve been told?
Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a story that only begins there. And if you find the connections valuable, please forward the message to those who might be blessed by it.
The Erev Shabbat reading lays out more of the details of ‘unclean-ness,’ such as following childbirth, and the associated requirements that follow afterward:
But the real Truth seems to be in the connections.
Mark begins the Sabbath Day midrash with a look at what might be relevant about “rituals” associated with events, like childbirth, and a woman’s monthly cycle, that still happen regularly, and observations by some even in ‘mainstream Christianity’ that there has been a tendency, for several generations at least, to “bend the Bible’ to conform to the popular culture.
OK – tell me somethin’ we didn’t know! Obviously it goes much further.
But this parsha turns out to be a perfect illustration, he contends. Because the related claim is that, instead, people should try to “conform to the image of ‘Jesus'” — even if they fail to recognize the fact that that very ‘image’ has been bent to conform to a culture which doesn’t even recognize the real Messiah from their fuzzy-wuzzy imitation.
“Does that offend you?” He asked — more than once. But “blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Does it matter that much of churchianity seems to be offended by the Real Yahushua HaMashiach, but not their substitute?
The irony is that YHVH sent both the PLAGUE of ‘tzaraat’ and His Son, the very “Torah Made Flesh,” to His people. And both evidently have a LOT to say about “what comes out of a man.”
Both — among other things — to teach them things they now, and perhaps almost always anyway, prefer to ignore – or “bend to fir their culture.”
One of them hasn’t been seen in the world, so far as we know, for centuries.
