Henrico Police Saturday afternoon arrested and charged a juvenile suspect with second-degree murder and two other charges in connection with the murder of a Henrico middle-school student Friday in the Gayton Forest West subdivision. Police made the arrest early Saturday afternoon. More than 22,000 people in Henrico and Richmond will receive their first or only COVID-19 vaccine doses next week. Richard Irving Dawes, age 101, died peacefully on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 in Richmond. A native of Arlington, Massachusetts, he came to Richmond in 1930. He graduated from Harvard College in 1940 and received a Master’s Degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1942. He served as a Naval Ordnance officer in World War II, 1942-1946. After service, he returned to Richmond and a 38-year career with Reynolds Metals Company, retiring in 1984. Mary Jane Evans, 90, of Henrico, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021, after a brief illness. Mary Jane was born July 8, 1930, in Richmond to James and Josephine (Weyand) Linari. She graduated from Cathedral High School and worked for A.H. Robins Company for 26 years. After her retirement in 1995, she enjoyed going on cruises with family and friends. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she sang in the Resurrection Choir and volunteered many hours of her time.
