CERTIFIED DIVORCE AND EMPOWERMENT COACH - YOUR FIRST CALL AND THE QUARTERBACK OF YOUR DIVORCE TEAM
Note: Her Self Expression has changed their name to Her Empowered Divorce
This week on the Her Empowered Divorce podcast, Beverly Price is interviewed by Pam Abirached, Certified Divorce Lending Professional, CDLP, about Beverly's role as a Certified Divorce and Empowerment Coach.
Beverly is speaking about the logistical, educational and emotional divorce journey. Whether a woman is contemplating divorce, in the middle of the process or wants a better life after, a Divorce Coach is essential, educating, guiding and supporting you. A coach can save you time, money and frustration.
The conversation touches on the impact of combining divorce and empowerment coaching on women at all the stages of divorce – how it can help a woman with self-esteem, be educated to the divorce process, learn skills necessary for the woman to fully participate in her side of the divorce, find her voice and her own power to stand up for herself and move on to a happy and thriving life afterward.
Topics and Actionable Takeaways include:
a. Hire a divorce coach first, before you event hire an attorney and use their referrals for the best divorce team for you. Invest in an expert team – a coach can help you determine what kind of professionals your situation might need and provide referrals to those you can interview. Many women won’t invest in themselves. You will learn about all the roles in later episodes.
b. Don’t let your emotions hijack you - while your emotions are intense and overwhelming, the key to the best long-term results of divorce is remaining neutral, and treating the process like a business transaction. A coach can help you process and learn how to do this. Emotions can lead to more hostile and longer term divorces causing more anguish and a higher overall divorce cost!
c. Pause and take a breath, don’t rush, have a plan – rushing into decisions, interactions with a spouse, and reacting hastily can give you a moment of good feelings, but can cause years of heartache and hardship in the future. Practice self-care.
Beverly wishes all women to come through divorce with more support, more knowledge, more empowerment and less pain that she did.

Kelsey Knutson is a speaker, podcast host, community builder and business coach with a big heart for small business. After graduating from Washington State University, Go Cougs, she went on to do business consulting through that college. She eventually quit the 9-5 life for good to pursue beauty school. Fast forward a few years and Kelsey was the proud owner of a six figure salon in Seattle,WA. But she would always slip some business advice to clients who were open to hearing it.
She has since closed her salon to help business owners full time through her coaching, podcasting, and business community, EMPW. Her clients have launched new businesses, 3x their revenue, hired their dream team, implemented boundaries, and so much more. Now she's on a mission to help others relentlessly chase after their dreams without compromising their work life balance. When she's not working, you can find her off roading in the mountains, snowmobiling in the winter, skipping rocks on the lake, or playing cards with friends or family.
In this episode of the Her Self Expression podcast, Kelsey and I talk about her journey to empowerment, what are some of the keys to women’s empowerment, the importance of networking for empowerment, and why we should know our higher purpose.
