Crystal Nelson with St. Paul AME Church returned to the show to provide more information about their upcoming HIV Women’s Conference “SHE LOOKS LIKE ME-SHE TREAT”.  The conference is scheduled on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30. Crystal shared a list of activities that will take place at the conference.  Also, listeners were informed on some of the topics and keynote speakers that will present at the conference. Crystal provided information where listeners can go to learn more about the “SHE LOOKS LIKE ME-Women’s Conference” and to register.

This week listeners received information about Ending the HIV Epidemic in the United States (EHE). Dr. Foster shared with listeners the plan to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030. Listeners were informed on the key strategies of Ending the HIV Epidemic. In addition, listeners received information on advancements in HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Both co-hosts provided information about HIV and African Americans and acknowledged some of the root causes that contribute to the increase of HIV in African Americans in the Deep South.

Shericka Williams with MAO returned to the show to talk about HIV, Stigma, Fear and Disclosure. Shericka shared with listeners her role at MAO and education programs provided for the community. She talked about the issue of stigma and fear as it relates to women accessing treatment. She provided information about women including HIV testing and STI screening as a part of the routine pap smear. Also, Shericka talked in depth about HIV positive women and disclosing status in new intimate partner relationships.

Co-hosts Dr. Pam Foster and Mrs. Reashanda White provided updates on COVID-19 and HIV. Listeners were reminded that COVID-19 is not OVER and to REMAIN VIGILANT! Mrs. White provided a report from the Alabama Department of Public Health on the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Alabama as well as the number of Alabamians that received a COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Foster talked with listeners about Herd Immunity. Also, Dr. Foster reminded listeners the importance of getting a COVID-19 vaccine and completing the series of COVID-19 vaccinations. Masking and social distance updates were provided to listeners. In addition, Dr. Foster provided an update on the HIV vaccine.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, A Woman’s Worth Show highlighted Ashley Tarrant, the first African American Woman to be named the Interim Chief Executive Officer with Medical Advocacy and Outreach (MAO). Ashley came to the show to talk with Dr. Pam Foster and Mrs. Reashanda White about MAO, her climb at MAO as well as MAO’s 35th Anniversary Year events and activities.  Listeners received historical information about MAO as well as services offered by MAO and the vision for MAO. Ashley shared with listeners her educational background as well as the various roles that she has served in at MAO that led her to becoming the Interim Chief Executive Officer. Also, Ashley provided listeners with information on upcoming services MAO will be providing for individuals in the community that is not infected with HIV.  In addition, Ashley shared with listeners upcoming activities and events MAO is hosting for their 35th Anniversary.

Carmarion D. Anderson-Harvey with Human Rights Campaign Alabama came to the show to talk with Dr. Pam Foster and Mrs. Reashanda White about the Intersection between Transgender and HIV. Listeners received information on Carmarion’s background and journey. Carmarion provided listeners with information about the Human Right Campaign and her role with the organization. In addition, Carmarion informed listeners on some issues that affect the LGBTQ + community in Alabama

Shericka Williams with Medical Advocacy and Outreach (MAO) joined Reashanda White to share information with listeners about National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.  Listeners learned the purpose of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Also, listeners received information on the importance of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Shericka shared with listeners the programs and events MAO is hosting for National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on March 10.

DeAndra shared with listeners a list of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day programs, events and activities that MAO is hosting on February 7 and following February 7.
