It's true! No matter how badass Jason Momoa is, the former Baywatch and current Aquaman star is not likely to be sitting poolside waiting to rub lotion on your back. This means you will need to have a better plan in place to prevent your worst water nightmare from becoming a reality. Your child just managed to open the sliding glass door, but the noise from the blender had muffled the sound. They are heading toward the pool. Can they swim? There's a splash, but it's too far away to be heard from the kitchen. It only takes 20 seconds for a child to drown.

In the U.S. there is no single day that has as many drownings each year as the 4th of July. We hope that everyone has a great celebration with friends and family. Enjoy the fireworks, hot dogs, and the birth of the nation, but make it a safe one. From aquatics to pool pro, we all play a role. Have fun, but make sure to keep both eyes peeled on the water and teach your children to swim!
