Do you ever hear yourself saying great I feel short again or way to screw that up?
If you are like most people then the answer is yes.
Why do you find yourself saying those things to yourself?
Maybe you lost your cool with your kids? Your spouse? Or in my case your kid's father?
That of falling short or not being the “perfect” person turns into what I like to call self-judgment day.
Where you beat ourselves and torture ourselves more than anyone else can.
If you have kids at home and you have ever needed to get them out the door for school then there can be tough mornings.
So days you just lose your shit. First I want you to know that is normal. FORGIVE YOURSELF. You are still a kick ass mom.
Maybe your ex did something that pissed you off you lost your shit. FORGIVE YOURSELF.
It could be anything or anyone that makes you LOSE YOUR COOL sometime. The most important thing is to FORGIVE YOURSELF!!
As much as you want to have it together all the time sometimes we just don't and that is OK.
Take some time to self-reflect on why you lost it. Self-reflection is AMAZING.
Are you tired? Hungry? Do you feel rushed in the morning? You felt disrespected it could be any number of things. Take the time to see what is and isn't within your control of the situation.
The most powerful type of self-reflection can happen through journaling.
journal the experience and where you see it went wrong.
Also if you feel the need to apologize then do it. The best rule of thumb is when you don’t feel like you were honoring yourself and acting as your best self then an apology not only would feel good for the person receiving it but shows growth for you.
Own your apology never force an apology because there is nothing worse than an empty apology.
Do not apologize necessarily for the way you feel but for the way you reacted.
You can find great freedom in owning when you feel like you didn’t represent the person you want to be.
Release yourself from that high expectation you put on yourself.
You are a work in progress and listening to this podcast is a remarkable first step.
Keep surrounding and feeding your soul with the type of person you truly want to be.
