WE’RE BACK! *trumpet sounds* We’d like to thank everyone for bearing with us as we finished up our last weeks of our semester. This week we’ve got a crime and a paranormal story! Our crime story this week was also a request by one of our lovely listeners, Hannah! Thank you for suggesting this case to us! This week Chris shares the tragic and heartbreaking story of Nicholaus Contreraz, a 16 year old who was sent to the Arizona Boys Ranch to reform himself. Several weeks later, Nicholaus would collapse and eventually die—revealing the ugly truth behind this camp to reform deviant boys. Then, Honda tells us about Robert the Doll, a child-sized doll that has a serious attitude problem and needs to be appeased. Chris also clearly has not learnt from the misfortunes brought on by joking about episode 4’s Taira no Masakado and makes fun of Robert… so hopefully she doesn’t get haunted by this doll. Hello everyone! This week we discuss our latest (but not newest) favourite show—911 and how Chris binged two entire seasons in two days. Then Honda shares the… quite frankly odd tale of Herbert Mullin aka the Earthquake Killer. You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out why he earned that name—trust us, it’s for the oddest reason. This week we  discuss Joss Whedon’s Justice League (2017) and how Zack Snyder is a redemptive movie producing god. TLDR; watch Zack Snyder’s Justice league even though it’s 4 hours long. Chris then shares the brutal murder of the Lin family from North Epping, New South Wales and how the police, through some smart thinking (and a terrible task force name) managed to nab the killer.

Anyway, this week Chris and Honda discuss terrible pet names and seeking revenge on schools who make you feel unworthy of yourself! And then, Honda tells us the tragic story of Kim Wall, a journalist who got on board a submarine for an interview and never resurfaced. Is… is it really an episode with a paranormal story?? YES! Welcome to episode 38! This week Honda shares the story of Dennis Radar, whose name rung no bells until the revelation that he is the BTK killer! We cover his crimes, his evasion of the police and his attempts at befriending the Lieutenant in charge of his case. (Spoilers: the friendship doesn’t last 😔) . Then Chris goes on to spook everyone with the tale of the Nishi Dak, a paranormal entity from Bengal, India, which calls out to you at night. Twice. If you answer then… we wish you all the luck. Next time you hear someone call out to you at night, wait for them to call you three times at least. We can’t gurantee it’s another spirit, but hey—at least it’s not the Nishi Dak! 🧧HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY 💕 Wow, two special occasions in a span of a few days? Calm down February! This week Honda brings you the story of Ted Kaczynski. Don’t worry if you struggle to pronounce the name, you can call him by his more famous alias: the Unabomber. This story takes several turns: you’ll never figure out how a high IQ, nature and bombing could be linked, but hey, ol’ Ted here managed to do it. This week we give you a recap on the news: from Myanmar’s coup to Reddit’s wall street takeover (and potential sentience of trees) we’ve got you covered! Chris then tells the harrowing story of two-year-old James Bulger from Merseyside, England who was murdered by two 10-year-old boys. How could these children commit such an unspeakable and violent crime? We also discuss the ethics (or lack thereof) when it came to the boys’ trial.
