Though we’re all currently stuck at home, this episode’s going to bring you some spooooky cheer 👻Honda tells us the origin story of the Amityville Hauntings aka the familicide of the DaFeo family and the completely messed up ruse by their killer. Shann then goes on to share about the Bell Witch, a phantom that haunted living daylights out of the Bell family. Why is she a witch? We don’t exactly know. We’ve hit episode number 20 y’all! This is the only 20 we’ll be talking about and not… the year 2020 because of… reasons (cue sobbing noises). If you’re wondering why your oat milk doesn’t taste that great, fret not because Shann gives us some insight into making that perfect hot cuppa. She also spills some tea on Singapore’s favourite choco drink, Milo. Brace yourselves folks because it HURTS. Keeping on with the theme, Shann shares the gruesome and horrific murders by the Toolbox Killers from Southern California aka Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris. This one’s hard to stomach. This episode ended up being movie-centric without us even realising. The three of us discuss Netflix’ Emily in Paris and the portrayal of a foreign land through the eyes of someone who hasn’t really lived there. We also talk about the controversial movie: Cuties and how sexualising minors to write a commentary about sexualising minors basically sucks. Chris then goes on to share about one of South Korea’s most famous cases—The Hwaseong Serial Murders. Thanks to Bong Joon Ho’s acclaimed (and frankly, AMAZING) film, Memories of Murder… many details of this case has become confused. But we try to stick to the facts. While also listing several K-dramas inspired by this case. Honda then tells us about the Manananggal, a vampire-like creature from the Philippines. Though its name’s a mouthful (try to say Manananggal five times in a row, we dare you) this cryptid’s got a taste for blood. And babies. It’s officially spooooky month! 🎃To kick it off, we’ve got some heckin’ cool stories this week. The three of us discuss how wild the year’s been (and realistically, we may physically be in October but mentally we are still in March). Shann brings us a kidnapping case from Sunny Singapore, in which two boys went missing and are still not found till today. What does McDonald’s have to do with the case? Listen to find out.
