Hidden In The Shadows Podcast

In this episode we are diving back into our alien series and covering a spot notably known for alien activity and government conspiracy and that's Area 51. Located in Rachel, Nevada about 84 miles north west of Las Vegas lies a heavily guarded military base known as Area 51. Talk of government coverups and the capturing and containment of aliens and UFO's has been a thing for decades yet Area 51 was only recognized as existing back in 2013 due to declassified documents. In this episode we mention some of the strangeness surrounding the secrecy of the area including how workers and employees get to work, what has been discussed, Bob Lazar and so much more. We even dive into the lore behind the Abigail Project, a weird experiment said to have taken place within the walls of Area 51 where a scientist's daughter was used and by the end was unrecognizable. Dive deep with us into the weird, the bizarre, and the craziness that is Area 51.

On this episode we are talking about a place that Isaac and I know all too well. Before moving to North Carolina we both lived in the city of San Antonio, Texas and traveled frequently to Austin, Texas. Isaac actually grew up in a small town between the two. We've done Texas Haunted Hot Spots before but we thought it would definitely be fitting to cover San Antonio and Austin. In this episode we dive into the backstories and haunted history of the Black Swan Inn, The Driskill Hotel, The Menger Hotel and of course the Alamo.

For this year's Halloween episode we definitely wanted to switch it up. For 2022 we decided to take you to a local location that we've been mentioning quite a bit here on the Hidden In The Shadows Podcast during the haunted updates each episode. Patsy's Pond is located in Newport, NC and is essentially a nature trail but the unique thing about this spot is the sink holes. Sink holes essentially endless leave the imagination open as to what exactly has been put into the water since the earlier days of the land. This area served as a huge fresh water supply location for not only the Croatan Tribes here but for the settlers. The history around the area has everything from Pirates, settlements, civil war, revolutionary war, multiple battles, slavery, and so much more in terms of history. A lot of the recent places we've been to connect to this location and we thought why not talk about our experience here while doing a LIVE podcast episode.

Have you ever heard of the Urban Legend of Cropsey? Known around Staten Island as the Staten Island Boogie Man this legend was frequently told to kids residing in the Staten Island area as a warning to behave and not stay out too late. The urban legend was based around a man who was deranged and escaped from an insane asylum with a hook for a hand. Some stories have him swinging an axe. This story took a drastic turn in 1980s when parents' and kids' worst nightmare became a reality. In the area local kids had gone missing which started to create a stir into the whole Cropsey legend. The man responsible for this was Andre' Rand, a janitor local to the area living in an abandoned part of the Willow brook Reformatory School for Disabled Children. A school of nightmares. Dive into this episode us as we uncover the Cropsey Legend and briefly touch on the true crime aspect.

Every year for the spooky season we love to put together these paranormal roundtables where we bring in different teams and different people in the paranormal community and have an hour-2 hour long conversation about the paranormal field, and their experiences. We discuss everything from theories to what their teams have found at certain spots to learning more about their personal backgrounds with the paranormal.
