The Johannesburg Metro has confirmed that a high-level probe is under way into the cause of a stampede in which two people were killed two and 16 others injured at the FNB stadium in the city. Johannesburg Metro Member of the Mayoral Committee Michael Sun says fake tickets which were reportedly being sold at an entrance to the 90-thousand seater stadium caused a riot which led to the stampede. Tickets for the Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were sold out two weeks ago and organisers had warned those without tickets not to go to the stadium.
