For providers of HIV-related care and services in the U.S., the legal landscape has grown more fraught in recent years. Despite protections baked into the Affordable Care Act, acts of medical discrimination are on the rise -- and are sometimes even encouraged by a provider's institution. We speak with Valerie Blake, J.D., of West Virginia University about these current realities, and how providers can work within the law to administer just, equitable, and science-based care to their patients.
