Immigration attorney Laura Pontius, and interpreter Katie, from the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, talks to us about the changes that USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) has made.
Locutora, Luz Lopez, entrevista a doctorado de Literaturas y culturas hispanas del departamento de español y portugués, Daniel Runnels. Entrevistamos a sus studiantes de la IU Cassidy Garner, Alicia González, Sarah Kurpius, Jessica Morris, Leigh Anne Reuter, Joye Tracey, Megan Waters, para hablarnos sobre: derechos y salud de las mujeres, con un enfoque específico en temas latinoamericanos. No presente pero también hicieron la investigación fueron Sammi May y Olive Rusk. Ellas hicieron una investigación sobre la salud maternal y los factores diferentes que afecta a la salud maternal. Mensionaron sobre el libro “Changing Birth in the Andes:” Dicen que la autora quiere que continuemos a trabajar con las mujeres indijenas para seguir protegiendo la salud y cultura. Hablaron sobre la estructura de poderes específicamente en el concepto de la intercultural. Hablaron sobre la percepción de las mujeres indígenas en la sociedad peruana actual y sobre la comunicación entre las mujeres indígenas y las matronas. Ellas finalizaron la entrevista hablando sobre la esterilización forzada y sobre las maneras de controlar los sistemas reproductivos de mujeres hoy en día.
Host, Luz Lopez, interviews doctorate of Hispanic Literatures and Cultures from the Spanish and Portuguese department, Daniel Runnels. We continued with interviewing his IU students Cassidy Garner, Alicia González, Sarah Kurpius, Jessica Morris, Leigh Anne Reuter, Joye Tracey, and Megan Waters, to talk to us about: women’s rights and health, with a specific focus on Latin American issues. Not present but also did the research were Sammi May and Olive Rusk. They did research on maternal health and the different factors that affect maternal health. They mentioned the book “Changing Birth in the Andes:” They say that the author wants us to continue working with indigenous women to continue protecting health and culture. They spoke about the power of structure specifically in the concept of the intercultural. They spoke about the perception of indigenous women in current Peruvian society and about communication between indigenous women and midwives. They ended the interview by talking about forced sterilization and about ways to control women’s reproductive systems today.

Quedarse en casa si está enfermo, cubrirse la nariz y la boca con un pañuelo desechable al toser o estornudar y luego botarlo a la basura, limpiar y desinfectar los objetos y las superficies que se tocan frecuentemente, usando un producto común de limpieza de uso doméstico en rociador o toallita. Seguir las recomendaciones de los CDC sobre el uso de mascarillas. Lávese las manos frecuentemente con agua y jabón por al menos 20 segundos, especialmente después de ir al baño, antes de comer, y después de sonarse la nariz, toser o estornudar.

Hosts Minvera Sosa and Josefa Luce talk about Susan G Koeman study, breast tissue bank. Although these women will not benefit directly from their tissue donations, they offer an invaluable resource that maximizes the potential of research today and for future generations.
They also talk about coronavirus and the importance of prevention such as avoiding close contact with sick people, avoiding touching their eyes, nose and mouth. Stay home if you are sick, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and then throw it away, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, using a common household cleaning product in sprayer or wipe. Follow the recommendations of the CDC on the use of masks. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
Hola Bloomington’s Lateenx Talk Lizbeth, Gabriel, Diana y Fernando hablan sobre las red social y los diferentes tipos de aplicaciones como TikTok, snap chat, instagram, Facebook y más. En la segunda parte hablaron sobre las licencia de manejar, lo que se necesita para obtener una, y la responsabilidad. Finalizan el programa con los lugares donde los jóvenes visitan los jóvenes como visitar a sus amigos, ir a los parques, los lagos, juegos/deportes de sus escuelas, patinar en hielo etc.

In the second part they talked about driver’s licenses, what it takes to get one, and responsibility. The program ends with places where teens visit such as visiting friends, going to parks, lakes, games / sports in their schools, ice skating etc.
