It's mid-week submission Thursday here at the Homespun Yak!
Nic's recent exposure to someone exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 along with his creeping dry cough and "covid voice" are making him wonder if he has potentially caught the virus... We certainly hope that is not the case, but if so we will at least be able to get a day by day analysis of his experience for the listeners! The guys then speak depressingly on the unfortunate situation of choosing between "man-baby Trump" and "cognitive-decline Joe" for the upcoming November election and how cases of Covid-19 continue to sharply rise while deaths remain quite low comparatively.
Moving on to the world of sports, they then discuss the highly anticipated move of Cam Newton to the New England Patriots and what morale of the American public might look like if the NFL actually decides to scrap the entire season this fall. They also share their opinions on how the Bucs (with Tom Brady) and the Pats (with Cam Newton) would match up against one another with their new offensive systems in place.
Finally, Nic and Kyle take a little time to talk about the books they are currently reading for the segment of the podcast known as "HSY Book Club". Nic is currently immersed in "Empire of the Summer Moon" by S. C. Gwynne, which graphically details the Native American Comanche tribe in Texas during the 19th century. Kyle is just cracking open "The Strange Death of Europe" by Douglas Murray (thanks Bennie), which goes into the many reasons behind and initially unforeseen short and long term consequences of mass migration to European nations.
