Kevin is a proud graduate of Pocomoke High School, where he had an outstanding career in soccer and basketball. He was team captain both sports. In soccer he was MVP, Bayside Conference MVP, First Team All State and the State Leading Scorer in points. He started his college career, playing soccer for Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA. and completed his college career at Salisbury State University. In Virginia, he is the Sporting Director for Virginia FC, as well as a Technical Director for Elite Training Academy/VA Futsal Pro, a player/coach development system. He also teaches and administers Regional and National Courses. Kevin been involved in many soccer organizations, including International Coaching for Virginia ODP State Team in Costa Rica, Czech Republic and the PUMA Pro Select in Brazil. He has also coached at the high school, club, college and Pro levels.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Kwame Lloyd, Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Salisbury University. Coach Lloyd shares his journey from his early soccer playing days to attending Susquehanna University, where he played soccer and track and field. At Susquehanna he was named MVP for men’s soccer. He played professional soccer and then return to Susquehanna to coach the Women’s Soccer team and be the Assistant Coach of the Women’s Lacrosse team from 1994-1997. He has also coached at Whittier College, Christopher Newport University, the University of Vermont and Wittenberg University.

Scott shares his times playing soccer at Northside Park, in Ocean City, Maryland. The Stephen Decatur High School Graduate and soccer player, received a soccer scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He played a season with a Minor Soccer League team, the Myrtle Beach SeaDawgs. He returned to Maryland to work for he YMCA in Salisbury, Maryland. His success led him to Florida, to work for Broward County Parks and Recreation., before becoming the Executive Director for the North Broward YMCA. In 2015 he became the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Clermont.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Jimmy Charles, Country Music Recording Artist. Jimmy shares his journey from playing sports, as a youth at the Ocean City Recreation & Parks Department and in Berlin to playing football and baseball at Stephen Decatur High School. Jimmy received a football scholarship to Towson University, where he played four years. He returned home to work in Real Estate, before he was going to try. His hand at music his full time. He went to Nashville and was in the top 50 for Nashville Star and then was a part of season nine of American Idol. He recorded his first song in 2014, “Whatever It Takes.” However it was the power of “Superman” that solidified his place in the spotlight. Written for Zero Cancer to promote Prostrate Cancer Awareness with bandmate Goose Gossett and Cancer survivor/mentor Phil Shulka. The songs companion video premiered on CMT, trending in the #1 spot, with over 5,000 shares, its first day on the site.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Steve Miller, Director of Recreation, Parks and Tourism for Wicomico County. Steve shares his journey from growing up and playing sports in Rhode Island. After high school he graduated from Nazarene College with a degree in English. He moved on to teach Physical Education and Health at Prospect Hill Academy in Boston. He also got to coach varsity basketball. He then became the Sports Director for North Penn YMCA. While at North Penn he received his Masters in Sports and Administration from West Chester University. Next he moved to Worcester County Recreation & Parks, as a Program Manager. He eventually landed in Wicomico County and has worked his way up from Athletic Complex Manager to Assistant Tourism Manager to Tourism Manager to where he is today, as the Director of Recreation, Parks and Tourism.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Courtney Blackford, Sales and Marketing Manager at Residence Inn by Marriott in Ocean City, Maryland. Courtney shares her journey, as an athlete from Kent Island, Maryland to Salisbury University, where she earned a degree in Theatre. She still applies some of her theatrical trade as a voice-over talent with radio, television and in the online industry. She has worked in the Sale and Hospitality Management for a long while. Her experience with AHI in Meeting Services, as a Meeting and Sales Consultant, has proved to be very valuable. She shares how Youth Sports Tournaments and other Ocean City Special Events benefit the hotel industry. She also shares how Residence Inn has partnered with the Ocean City community, on other events.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Gary Briddell, a senior at Salisbury University and a member of the Men’s Basketball Team. This past season, Gary was selected to the CAC All Conference Team, when he average 15.2 points per game. A 1000 point scorer in high school, while playing for Stephen Decatur and Parkside High School, Gary is on tract to reach that mark during his senior year in college.

Mike is probably the most energetic and enthusiastic teacher for Worcester County and perhaps the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Mike shares his journey from growing up near Ocean City Golf Club and following his dad around the course. His dad worked at the golf course. He played a little golf himself, but decided to play a couple of years of football, while at Stephen Decatur High School. But, then he found his love for drama and student government. MJ, as he is often called, graduated from Salisbury University, with a degree in Elementary Education. He later received his Masters in School Counseling from Wilmington University in 2004. This fall will be Mike’s 23rd year of teaching at Showell Elementary.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast shares a conversation with Mark Flounlacker, Founder of Freestate Wheelchair Lacrosse in Maryland, shares story. His team is called Maryland Thunder. Maryland Thunder won the National Championship in 2019. He helped organize the first Wheelchair Competition in Ocean City, Maryland during Bob ( Moose) Musitano’s OC Lacrosse Classic. It could be said that Mark helped to influence other city across the country to start teams. Teams are now located in San Diego, Richmond, New York, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Houston, Grand Rapids, Denver and Buffalo.
