He was nominated for Trooper of the Year for his recruiting and community service. He worked for Maryland State Police Bureau of Drug Enforcement, until he was hired by the U.S. Secret Service. During his 22 years with the Secret Service he served under three presidents. He served as the Assistant Special Agent in charge of Presidential Protective Division under President Barrack Obama.

Nick shares his story about being born in Ocean City, Maryland, but being raised in Chesapeake, Maryland. His family retuned to Ocean City each summer. His journey to becoming an entrepreneur started early in life, learning from his father. Nick opened the first two Nick’s Mini Golf Courses in 2015, while he was in college. In college, he majored in business marketing, with a minor in entrepreneurship. Following graduation, from Philadelphia University, where he played on the golf team for four years, he opened four additional courses. He now has four in Ocean City and two in Delaware.

She was most recently the Deputy Director of Facility Operations for a six-time National Gold winning Parks and Recreation agency in Prince George’s County, MD. Roslyn has had an extensive career in the field of parks and recreation. In the past 17 years, she has held Deputy Director and Associate Director positions in parks and recreation agencies in Richmond, VA; the District of Columbia; and Baltimore. She is a member of the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration. She is a member of the National Recreation & Parks Association, where served as a board member and as a presenter at the NRPA Conference.. She presented at the first Urban Parks Conference in Chicago. She is a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional and a Certified International Coach. She has worked with or is a member of many different organizations.

In 2010 she was named the Bayside Confererence Player of the Year in soccer. She earned 11 Varsity Letters, while also competing in basketball and soccer. She was an All American at Elizabethtown College and is in the school’s top ten record book in several categories, in just two playing seasons. She lead all NCAA Division III in points per game (7.31) in 2013. She was also named Rookie of the Year in the Commonwealth Confererence in her freshman season.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Mike Nwabuzor, Professional Basketball Player, who has played the last two years in Germany. Mike shares his story about playing for Mayfield High School in California, before enrolling and playing for Central Arizona Junior College for two years. His Junior year saw him playing for The University of Texas Grande Valley. For his senior year, he had a successful season at New Mexico Highlands University, where he earned All Confererence. Following his senior year he got the opportunity to start his professional career in Germany, a dream come true.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with former Snow Hill High School and University of Maryland Eastern Shore Basketball Star, Teresa Waters. Her profession is teaching. She has taught a variety of business courses in Howard County for 41 years. She shares her journey of playing in the first two Maryland State Girls Basketball Championships, ever held. She completed her college basketball career at UMES, on a full scholarship. Following UMES, she landed a teaching and coaching position in Howard County at Oakland Mills High School. In 1998 she won her first State Championship for the school. She has also won two State Championships at her present school, River Hill, in 2006 and 2019. She has been honored with several Coach of the Year Awards. She has been selected to the Snow Hill Hall of Fame in 2019, the River Hill Hall of Fame in 2006 and Howard County Women’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. As a Student Advisor, she has been selected as the State Advisor of the Year in 2004, the Regional Advisor of the Year in 2006 and to the National Advisor Hall/Wall of Fame in 2020.

Hondo Handy’s Podcast has a conversation with Marqzes Fooks, a Professional Basketball Player in Germany. Little did we know when Marques started playing in my Basketball League at the Ocean City Recreation & Parks Department. He makes the team in high school and plays three years for the Stephen Decatur Seahawks. He starts college at UMES and majors in Culinary Arts. He decides to make a change and heads to California. He walked on at UC Irvine and made the basketball team. In 2012 he decided to join the Army and headed to Camp Humphrey, South Korea, where he made the Korean Post team. They selected 12 players out of 400. He received a military excuse to play on the team for two years. His second tour took him to Fort Campbell, where his team won the company championship. Along the way his team got to play a top German team. He score 27 points against one of the top Pro German teams. Soon after he retired from the Army to start his Euro Basketball Tour, where he now plays Professional Basketball.
