I approached this episode a little different in a sense I really wanted to see where this convo took us, organically. Identity is one of those things that are composed of sooo many different things: life experiences, racial identity, sexual orientation, religion, SES status, etc. In this episode I got the pleasure of talking with my co-worker and friend, Kate! Because Kate's background is so mixed, I wanted to get her perspective on 'identity' with even less structure to the conversation (is that possible? haha) to see what we uncovered. Which is why I shouldn't be surprised the conversation took a slight focus on different facets of being black in America and how that affected us. I really enjoyed this conversation as it left me with so much more I wanted to dig into and hopefully, you too! SEASON 4 IS HERE!!! To start us off you get a solo recording of me talking about the pleasures of enjoying the simple things that life bring me. These past few weeks have been an enlightening time for me and the subject matter felt like one we needed to talk about. Life can be complicated fro outside forces, I don't want to add tot that myself and the older I get the more I realize simplicity IS the goal for me. Simplicity makes me happy.
