THE LAST EPISODE OF SEASON THREE! Whew, can you believe we even made it to THREE seasons, ALREADY?? Me neither! This episode is a little different because the guest is ME! Hahah, i thought it would be different for the Podcast if I did a solo episode and a part of me, liked it a lot so it may happen again. In this episode I talk a little more about me, how I got into Podcasting and of course, it wouldn't be a real Honestlyhelen episode if i didn't have some honest talk about a few random things along the way. I am hoping that you are able to just enjoy this episode as it plays in the background while you kick-ass at whatever it is you are doing. We are in a world where everyone has an opinion, everyone has something to say about something (and rarely with solutions). In this episode I get to talk to my sister Priscilla about labels and talk a little about the pros and cons. The best gem she dropped in this episode and in my opinion should be the rule of thumb for sharing our opinions and that is the 5 second rule: if your 2-cent isn't something that someone can change within 5 seconds, is it something you need to vocalize? With Grocery stores being shot up, schools, nightclubs, churches, etc, over labels and stereotypes; we have got to do better as a people and as a Nation.

When it's good, it's good and this conversation was just that! As a woman, I view Black men through a certain lens, and even more so, as a woman raised by a single mother with a large family, I've had plenty of my own personal interactions with black men. And one thing I love to see is: a black man overcome more than his circumstances and become excellent and that is beautifully represented by my guy, Wanya (Wan-yay)! I will continue to sound like a broken record and say I love that my guest choose to come to these recordings and let themselves be truly honesty. This conversation takes such great turns into different gems of conversation that the topic is the topic but...isn't? Listen and let me know?!

This World is hard, y'all, and really enjoying it, in my opinion means understanding that life is more than your struggle, more than your current obstacle, more than the negatives. It's enjoying the fruits of your labor, seeing the progress you've made from a space you thought you never could leave from. And for Black men specifically, you CAN and WILL overcome anything you truly put your mind too.

"...a smile a day keeps the enemies away..." Another one for the books and this year I seemed to have a theme haha. On this episode I get to talk to the brother, David! In this episode, we talking B+ (I want you to listen to the episode to see where the idea for this topic came from!) and it was of course an honest one. This season has drilled in me that everything is a muscle, a skill, a tool, that we have to continue to refine every day if we so chose. Being positive takes intention and it takes practice. David and I have a nice little back and forth on the role that family plays as well. As always I think we got some good gems that we could all use, but if nothing else, enjoyed these good vibes!

Now, this one is a little longer and we have slight audio issues -- I promise it is still such a good listen! Now I am realizing the more I am on my own journey of Adulthood, I am enjoying here how others take on simple topics that we all take part in without giving much thought. This episode, with the fabulous, Bree, I get to talk Focus. This conversation was so fun because me and Bree come from two different generations and we agree on a lot still as well as having different views on things. The fun of it all was the chemistry with Bree and the genuine flow of conversation! One thing I can do is talk, however holding a conversation is always my favorite pastime. I really enjoyed recording and even editing this episode and so I hope you do too, but if nothing else, I hope you enjoyed these good vibes!
