Hoop Ties

Is KAT a better 3pt shooter than Dirk Nowitzki? Is KAT the best shooting big or center? The answer is absolutely if he's a center but best shooting big, it's Dirk! Shooting the ball is more than just the 3pt line.

Tony Parker or Steve Nash…there is levels to how we rank who’s better. Tony Parker is cold but It’s a lot closer than you think. We need to distinguish the difference between regular-season performance and the playoffs.

Is Kemba Walker washed? People are quick to call players washed, it happened with Melo and D Rose. The Knicks are the problem, not Kemba and if Knick fans think there’s someone better tell us who!

LeBron James playing with his son Bronny James is flat-out special and who knows what it will look like but ultimately it’s special. Today people are quick to judge LeBron but pump the brakes, he’s 37 years old and still a top-5 NBA player, LeBron can continue to play at a high level for another 3+ years! Bronny is a talent and regardless of his dad don’t underestimate how good he is. Comparing LeBron’s longevity with Tom Brady and why what LeBron is doing is incredible. Bottom line, we have never seen an athlete like LeBron James so appreciated it before he’s gone.

The NBA 75 list missed Tracy McGrady and Dwight Howard. We understand that lists are not easy and it’s always easy to say who should be on the list. It’s also important to realize that you need to remove players in order to add players. The ultimate respect comes from your peers and when Allen Iverson says T-Mac should be on the list that carries weight.

Shoutout the SLAM 75 before 94 covers and would LeBron and Steph have been the greatest duo of all time?

CJ McCollum or Collin Sexton? Is there an obvious clear cut choice? If Collin Sexton didn’t get injured this season would he have been an All-Star? When we rank players do we not account for defensive ability? CJ has played at the highest level and hit big shots throughout his career.

Breaking down the Sacramento Kings trade with Indiana. The Kings made a decision and are prioritizing De’Aaron Fox. People are quick to criticize the Kings but they got the better player, Sabonis!

Julius Randle or Domantas Sabonis?

James Harden is in Philly and Ben Simmons is a Brooklyn Net. Everyone is happy and they should be. All the talk about Ben Simmons shooting the ball can stop because he’s surrounded by elite shooting and playmaking with the Brooklyn Nets! James Harden and Joel Embiid is hype and the potential is amazing but slow down this ain’t Kobe and Shaq. The pressure is on for James Harden to deliver and will he return to Houston Harden?

Team LeBron vs Team KD…..LeBron arguably has five of the six best players in the game. Team LeBron looking scary and that’s about all we need to say. Ahmad and Theus give their picks for Dunk and Three Point Contest winners.

Welcome NBA legend Charles Oakley and author of The Last Enforcer! Released this month The Last Enforcer is a memoir from Charles Oakley - one of the toughest and most loyal players in NBA history, featuring unfiltered stories about the journey that basketball has taken him on.

Oak talks about today's NBA, how much the game has changed and the true cost of winning. Too many guys talk about winning but nobody wants to make sacrifices in today's game. Why stars today would struggle in the 80s and 90s and would Giannis be as dominant in the old NBA?

LaMelo Ball and Dejounte Murray are All-Stars. LaMelo Ball has been a prodigy in the making, despite all the noise and hate he’s an All-Star. It’s also easy to forget that LaMelo is only a second-year player. Dejounte Murray is smooth and a true two-way player who has improved his game year over year to this point. Shoutout to Adam Silver for getting it right with his injury replacements.

The Cleveland Cavaliers made a trade for Caris LeVert. Ahmad proclaimed that with this trade, the Cavs are title contenders! The Cavs are good but is this just wishful thinking? It begs the question, can you win a title without a superstar? How should we look at regular-season success in comparison to playoff expectations IE the Utah Jazz.

The New York Knicks…WHAT ARE WE DOING?! The handling of Cam Reddish and Coach Tom Thibodeau is outrageous. Trading for Cam Reddish only for him to waste away on the bench is sad.

Plus bonus trade deadline scenarios!

Devin Booker and Chris Paul, this conversation about who’s better and who’s more valuable needs to stop. Give them both their flowers. Do the Phoenix Suns have what it takes to win the NBA Finals?

Let’s talk about the best Big-3’s in the league today. With over eight teams that have a legitimate Big-3 who has the edge, and can it work with two wings? Do the Memphis Grizzlies have a Big-3?

Is Giannis Antetokounmpo a Wilt Chamberlain disciple?

Shoutout to the Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young on their 7-game winning streak. Don’t forget that this team made the ECF, it was just a matter of getting healthy. Coach Monty Williams is getting the shoutout and love for the Suns, they’ve won 10-straight and it’s a special time in Phoenix.

Who are the best five ISO guys in the league today? Damn, five is hard and people are missing the bus. So we push it to top-6! It’s getting serious and we cant pump fake on our takes but would you take Anthony Edwards or Darius Garland to round out your list?

PSA: We ain’t talking about the Knicks!

This is No Pump Fakes, we make our own rules, forget the positions we naming the five All-Star starters from each Conference. From East to West we get into the locks for each conference and our picks that round out our starting five. Who’s more deserving Trae Young or James Harden? Plus honourable mention of Zach LaVine. Don’t come with that energy about “where are the centers” this is our list!

Paul Pierce vs Carmelo Anthony. People are quick to say Melo but Paul Pierce lead the Celtics to a Championship as the best player and won Finals MVP. The Truth didn’t just beat anyone in the Finals, he beat Kobe.

Jayson Tatum is fresh off another 50-piece game in his young career, the man is special and he’s scoring in a magnitude of ways. This is a reminder that both he and Jaylen Brown have all the upside to make the Celtics a contender.

People are quick to forget about the greatness when it comes to Russell Westbrook, one down year and everyone is quick to write him off. Put some respect on Russ. In the words of Ahmad and Theus “What are we doing”!
