Hoop Ties

Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic are coming off amazing games, and it begs the question of who’s the best big in the league? Nikola Jokic is a point center, something we’ve never seen before and he’s a playoff performer. Joel Embiid brings it on both sides of the court but hasn’t had the same success in the playoffs. Defensively Joel is far superior but at the end of the day it’s about winning, and Jokic is winning more games. What's the gap between Nikola and Joel when it comes to a LeBron, Steph, KD, or Giannis? When it comes to leading a franchise to an NBA Championship the gap is huge.

Dwyane Wade was special, when it comes to his legacy he’s one the greatest shooting guards of all time. When you look at James Harden, Allen Iverson, and Dwyane Wade it's hard not to put D-Wade #1.

The Lakers are not good, after a 37-point beatdown from the Nuggets, it's getting messy and confusing. How do these LeBron lead Lakers compare to some of Kobe’s teams? LeBron James is balling in year 19 but the Lakers are not winning games, so where do they go from here?

Miles Bridges for Most Improved cap or no cap?

The Hawks just gave away their second-best talent, and they pretty much gave him away for free. The New York Knicks hands down won the trade. What are the Atlanta Hawks doing? Is this part of some master plan to get Ben Simmons or Jaylen Brown, but how? Bottom line the Knicks are making moves to become a contender.

The Brooklyn Nets are great and just made a statement on national television against the highly talented Chicago Bulls.

With Dame out and probably not returning this season, are the Trailblazers already starting the rebuild? Is it time for Dame to move on?

Cue Mase “Welcome Back” damn it's good to have Klay Thompson back. What does this do for the Warriors now that the Splash Bros are back? You can't ignore how well Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are playing but don’t get too excited because come playoffs it's a different game. Russell Westbrook looks checked out, and Lance Stephenson is better than all your role players. Where do the Lakers go from here?

Chris Dempsey Nuggets Reporter/Analyst for Altitude Sports joins Theus and Ahmad to talk Denver Nuggets.

The game has changed so much and we live in an era of positionless basketball. So Nikola Jokic may not be flashy to the casual fan but he’s the real deal and can be the best player on a championship team.

Jamal Murray’s talent and fearless approach to the game is what makes him so special, he still hasn’t unlocked his full potential. What’s the ceiling for this young Nuggets team when fully healthy? They have the potential to have one of the best trios in the NBA with MPJ, Jamal Murray, and Nikola Jokic.

The legacy Carmelo Anthony has in Denver is “Franchise Changing” - he brought the city of Denver winning and superstardom, he should always be celebrated.

Back to back game winners, give DeMar the respect he deserves. He’s balling and the team is winning, DeMar is now in the MVP conversation, but should he be at the top of the list?

Jaylen Brown is under appreciated, his progression is special. What will it take for the Celtics tandem of Tatum and Brown to work? The pressure is on the front office to make this duo successful.

Both Kyrie and Klay are expected to make their long awaited returns this coming week, what are the expectations for both teams with their return?

It’s only right that we celebrate LeBron James and his 37th Birthday, Happy Birthday LBJ!

The East

The Brooklyn Nets have dealt with so much volatility, and they’re still number 1 in the east, now with Kyrie partially back, good luck! The Bulls have to continue this regular season success into the post season. As Champs, do the Milwaukee Bucks have the most to prove this year? It’s a statement year for the Miami Heat, was the bubble an anomaly? The Cavs are the biggest surprise!

The West

The Warriors are good what else can you say, a-lot of people were wrong about them. The Suns have the chemistry to run it back. The Jazz…early playoff exit. The Grizzlies mind their own business, watch out. Nikola Jokic is doing it all for the Nuggets.

Enjoy the mailbag and Happy New Year!

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are the reigning champs, don’t forget that. Giannis dominates on both ends of the floor and the Bucks are reminding everyone why they’re still the team to beat.

Christmas is officially behind us, what does that mean for this Los Angeles Lakers team that still hasn’t found its footing? At what point do the Lakers throw in the towel, the excuses are running out. LeBron is doing everything in year 19, he’s playing center, scoring the ball, and carrying the entire load for nothing.

Something has got to change. They have the talent but they’re missing hustle, grit, and grind. Russell Westbrook is becoming the scape goat and its not him, there is a bigger problem!

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

The signing of Lonzo Ball has made the difference, since the departure of Derrick Rose the Bulls have struggled at the point guard position. Lonzo brings all the attributes you look for in a point guard. All-Star or All-NBA, what is his ultimate ceiling?

The pairing of Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan was criticized by many heading into the season, instead the two of them have delivered on an exciting start for this Bulls team. The is a league that you are judged not by what you do in the regular season but how you deliver in the playoffs. Both DeMar and Zach have a lot of pressure to deliver in the post season, plus the big free agency surrounding Zach LaVine this upcoming offseason.

The youngest MVP ever, Derrick Rose, it’s only right we show love. What Derrick Rose meant for this organization and the city of Chicago. He will always be a legend. Mad love and respect for Derrick Rose, one of the greatest talents the game has ever seen and a future Hall of Famer.

Finally we wrap up with the five most talented Chicago Bulls of all-time!

The current landscape of the league is proving ample opportunities for many players in the G. What will the NBA do to battle Covid, will we see Christmas Day games?

Kemba Walker is back and it was a shame to see him on the bench. Happy to see him hooping because we know what he’s capable of, he was the scape goat for the Knicks struggles. Is it time to free Kemba?

The Lakers are bad and guys like Nikola Jokic are carrying a team with far less talent to a better winning percentage, what do LeBron and the Lakers need to fix this? It’s time to make a move for Myles Turner.

How do we fix the Dallas Mavericks…get a point guard! They need to pair someone with Luka so he isn’t dribbling the air out of the ball every possession. Luka doesn’t have the athleticism or stamina to carry the entire load all season plus the post season. They need a shot creator.
