Hoop Ties

What's going on with the Warriors…it’s getting nasty. The Warriors should win the Finals, they are the favourite. Jayson and Jaylen are not rookies anymore - they are here and ready to win. Shoutout to Steph, he’s shown up. The Boston Celtics look hungry and they’re more athletic. The Warrior's season is on the line come game 4. Does Steph have the ability to get it done solo?

Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are on the outside looking in when it comes to the top-10 players of all time? Does Steph need to win this Championship and Finals MVP in order to get into the top-10, because Finals MVP is the only thing left for him to check off his resume. The reality with any list is in order to add someone we need to remove someone…Bird, Wilt, Russell, and Duncan are at the bottom of the list. The top-4 is stamped but the order is up for interpretation: Kareem, Michael, LeBron, Kobe. This is the Mount Rushmore.

When we think of the greatest NBA Finals we all have memorable moments that stick with us for life. From LeBron’s second title in Miami with Ray Allen’s big shot to Tim Duncan’s shot against the Lakers. Witnessing these moments is what makes the NBA Finals so special. Every possession matters when its win or go home. Making it to the Finals is a major accomplishment but how many players ever get back there after losing in the finals?

When it comes to the Center position who is the better basketball player. Bam is more versatile and is able to do more. When it comes to the upside, does Deandre have more potential? Do both of these players thrive in a system or can they be assertive on the floor? Bam has the tools to be great and can guard all positions, Deandre is better suited to the traditional game. Cap or no cap, Kristaps Porzingis or Nikola Vucevic.

Do the Miami Heat need another star? As much as it’s easy to talk about the Miami Heat’s struggles, they are also only one of four teams remaining and two games away from the Finals. From an entertainment standpoint is it better to have a Celtics/Warriors final or does Miami deserve another shot at the Chip? People who think there won’t be a market for Kyrie Irving are crazy. Kyrie is not signing a one-year deal. Do the Knicks own the poverty franchise tag?

Is Jaylen Brown underappreciated? The Celtics need both Tatum and Brown to be great in order to win a chip. Arguably the best wing tandem in the league. Can either Brown or Tatum be the number one option on a Championship team, neither has won yet. Can you be labelled a number one option on a Championship team if you’ve never won?

Scottie Barnes played phenomenally, Even Mobley showed out but Cade Cunningham is the best Rookie in the class. Cade has the total package and Detroit has a franchise guy that they can build around.

Josh Giddey didn’t make All-Rookie First Team but the question you have to answer is who would you remove to make way for Josh? Shoutout to the Rockets for giving Jalen the keys and allowing him to have the green light. For any rookie, is it optimal to be in a situation where you can play immediately or spot minutes on a great team?

Answer this, if Luka and Book switched teams…the Dallas Mavericks would be in the Western Conference Finals?

Nobody expected the Phoenix Suns to choke. All they have to blame is themselves. Chris Paul is a first-ballot Hall of Famer regardless. Do the Suns run it back…right now they need to win not regress. Does Deandre Ayton command max money? Did the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns trick the NBA?

Congratulations to Nikola Jokic on winning his second straight MVP Award. We are done with voter fatigue and if this is how we are going to play out selections, let’s keep the same energy consistently. Joel Embiid was robbed after carrying his team throughout the year and it's more apparent now in the playoffs.

LeBron James should have more than 4 MVP Awards, what’s it going to take for LeBron to win another MVP…average 35+ PPG? That's why Championships carry more weight, the media has zero influence on rings! Winning cures all! It’s time for the NBA Awards to evolve to the current landscape of the NBA.
