Part 3 concludes our series from Ruth chapter 3 on Developing a deeper relationship with God. The picture of Ruth and Boaz is a picture of Christ and the Believer.Ruth had begun a relationship with Boaz in chapter 2, but she was not content with just a surface relationship. She wanted a deeper relationship and actually makes a marriage proposal to Boaz. In doing so we see the lessons in her interaction with Boaz of how we are to to approach our redeemer.She prepared herself, she submitted to him, and she listened to him.Likewise we are to prepare ourselves for dealing with God, we are to submit ourselves to His will and way, and embrace what He says to us. In this concluding message we see in Ruth that we are to willingly receive the gifts that are granted us, and wait patiently while he completes the work of His promises to us.

We give thanks for Mother's But we also are reminded for the kind of mother that we need in the church, in the world, and in our lives today. It is often the Mother that is the glue that hold's the family together. It is often a job that is thankless, exhausting, and discouraging job. It is often one that many women feel inadequate and unequipped for doing. But for the mother, grandmother, mother-to-be, and mother figures in our lives, we share from the Word of God that with God, you are more than enough to accomplish the job at hand.

Last week we began a new mini series: "Keys to Inviting God to Work in Your Life" from the book of Ruth. Key #1 Learn to Live by Faith: We saw Ruth step out on faith in her God as she trusted the instructions He had given Israel for caring for the widows, poor, and foreigners. This week Ruth encounters Boaz in his field and we find that by living out her faith she is looking for mercy and grace and finds it and through her finding grace we find one of the great pictures of grace and redemption that is shown in the Old Testament. A Picture of Christ and the Church!
