God had made it clear long before the events of this passage that He would bless all the nations of the earth (Gen. 12:3). Isaiah had prophesied that God would do a new thing, that He would make a way in the wilderness, that He would make rivers through the desert, and that wild beasts would honor Him (Is. 43:18-20).

All of this is being fulfilled in Acts 10. In this chapter God arranges a meeting between Cornelius, a devout Roman centurion, and the apostle Peter. The Gentiles are about to believe the gospel and become part of the family God. This is one of the most important moments in all of church history. The nations are beginning to come to King Jesus.

In this third and final message in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we look into what the scriptures teach about human sexuality and sexual sin.

It was God’s plan from the beginning that sex is to be enjoyed by one man and one woman who have entered into the holy covenant of marriage. All sexual activity outside of this is wicked.

Those who believe that abortion is a right feel that something has been taken away from them. Now that some states are making it harder to obtain an abortion, the consequences of sexual promiscuity are higher. Depending on where someone lives, if they conceive, it may be much harder to murder their baby and they are more likely to have to carry their child to term and raise their baby. For some, the days of an easy out of parenthood are over.

What is the job of the church? We are to not participate in sexual sin and we are to work hard to expose the unfruitful works of darkness in our land (5:11). As we point our flashlights at the evil in our world we are to call people to arise for the dead (5:14) and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who loved us and gave himself up for us (5:1).

Children are a gift from God, they are part of our inheritance and the man who has many is blessed.

Many people today (Christian and non-Christian alike) do so much to avoid having children and miss out on God’s blessing. Repentance is needed. We have no need to worry that we can’t take care of them for it is the Lord who builds the house. We have no reason to be concerned about having too many for it is the Lord who watches over us.

Children are God’s means to conquer evil in our world today and usher in the kingdom of God.

The evil and unconstitutional 1973 SCOTUS ruling Roe v. Wade has been overturned. This is a huge step in the right direction for our nation but there is much more work to do.

All 50 states had the opportunity to defy Roe these past 49 years but they chose to implement incremental legislation that makes it legal to murder their babies. These unjust, iniquitous decrees (Isaiah 10:1) must now be struck down and replaced with laws that provide all people with equal protection from the moment of fertilization until natural death. If our nation fails to do this we will most certainly reap judgment (Jer. 22:5).

Now that Saul has become a Christian, the church experiences a period of peace. During this time the church multiplied.

None of us would be content with a calculator that doesn’t have a multiplication button. Why are we ok with a church that doesn’t have one?

How does multiplication work in God’s kingdom? How can the church go beyond merely adding members and see multiplication?

The Bible says a day is coming when His glory will fill the earth. The Bible says a day is coming when people from every tongue tribe and nation will worship Jesus. Let’s work together in partnership with our Lord to see this day come!

Paul met Jesus recently and is quickly launched into ministry. He is now trying to build up the faith that he once tried to destroy.

There are many lessons for church ministry in this passage. The most important lesson is that we should be doing more public proclamation of the gospel followed by conversation that defends the message and persuades others to believe it. If the American Church did what Paul did our nation would be very different.

The gospel has spread through Jerusalem and the surrounding region and is about to go to the uttermost ends of the earth. In this passage we see God save Saul. Saul had been ravaging the church and dragging off Jesus’ people to prison, but he is now God’s chosen instrument to carry the name of Jesus further than it has ever traveled.

In this stand alone message we examine God’s omnipotence, His omnipresence, and His omniscience in the life of Jonah. If we are to know our God well and do great exploits in His Name (Dan. 11:32) we must know His limitless power, His boundless presence and His infinite knowledge.

Philip’s story continues in this final passage of Acts 8. In this story God gives Philip specific direction about how to move forward in ministry. Two things become clear. First, Philip is a faithful man that is ready and willing to do all that the Lord calls him to do. Secondly, God is fulfilling His plan to bless the nations that He announced long ago.
