Welcome to a new year!
We’ve learned that resolutions fueled by willpower alone don’t last, especially when it comes to food and body image. In this episode, we open a different door—one rooted in biblical hope and God’s nearness, not self-control or shame. We share an honest story of significant weight loss that left the body smaller but the fear louder, and why results without rest never lead to freedom. From there, we talk about what peaceful eating can actually look like: listening for real hunger, welcoming God to the table with gratitude, choosing satisfying portions that give energy, and stopping at “just enough.” We also name shame’s familiar voice and explore how truth, curiosity, and compassion can interrupt it so meals become moments of presence rather than pressure.
We then introduce the five intentions of Spirit-led eating—a gentle framework that honors both the body’s signals and the heart’s need for grace. Instead of labeling foods as good or bad, we return to food as a gift and practice noticing, savoring, and responding. We remind you that missteps are not moral failures but invitations to draw near to God, renew the mind, and begin again without punishment. If the new year already feels heavy, hear this clearly: you are not behind, not broken, and not too late. There is a steadier hope and a way of eating marked by peace, dignity, and joy—and we invite you to walk that path with us.
