Jamie and Doug are coming off a week that started with their daughter getting the hand foot mouth virus, which got passed to Jamie, and then ended with Hurricane Idalia passing near them. The episode recapped Jamie’s friend Sarah recently passing away at 40 yrs from ovarian cancer, and the profound impact she had on how Jamie now handles anxiety and depression on down to the daily complaints and frustrations. This prompts an emotional and deep conversation about Jamie’s past, and the abuse she went through in her childhood. Jamie then reveals the one constant in her life, which continues to this day, that she says saved her from being trapped in a very dark mindset.

Jamie and Doug discuss their extremely challenging past week. Jamie found out her Grandmother passed away, which was the first time someone she had known all her life had passed. Jamie talks about their relationship, and we learn more about their family dynamic. She opens up about how her grandmother’s passing has, in a way, helped reconnect Jamie and her mom. Hear about Jamie’s 3-hour phone call with her mother, and how this may have positively impacted her mother’s outlook on life. Jamie also had a girlfriend Sarah pass away a few days later from ovarian cancer. Doug and Jamie reflect on how quickly life can be taken away, and how lucky they are to live. Sarah has made such a profound impact on Jamie’s life, and how she looks at depression, anxiety, and complaining in a whole new light. Sarah knew she was given 2 to 5 years left, and fought every day to stay here on earth, and her one big wish was to see her son off to kindergarten this year. Hear Sarah’s story, and how important it is to advocate for your body, your health, and your family.
