Aaron Rodgers won’t play in the preseason. This is the first example of Rodgers taking advantage of Mike Tomlin. Even late in his career, Ben Roethlisberger played in preseason games. Is it a mistake for the Steelers to not have Rodgers at least get his feet wet? The injury concern is there, sure, but there is a real chance the offense comes out flat in Week 1.
Our voiceover guy with another banger. The Steelers brought in Dalton Risner for a visit – a guard that played good football for a 14-win Vikings team last season.
ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – The guys asked Aditi if Kenny Pickett will play at all in the Browns preseason finale after not playing at all this preseason. Aditi thinks Pickett had a good chance to be the Browns starter if he did not get hurt early in training camp. Poni told Aditi he was upset by the praise for Shedeur Sanders after the first preseason game. Are the Steelers making a mistake by not playing Aaron Rodgers in the preseason? Aditi definitively said Rodgers will get more leeway from Mike Tomlin to do things no other QB has been able to do since Ben Roethlisberger retired. With Cam Heyward practicing yesterday, Aditi said it’s a sign of good faith by the player that their demands will be met – but you can’t guarantee that’s the case.
