This week we explore the subject of....RELIGION. Instead of approaching it from a mocking angle, we discuss how religion shaped us while growing up, and how it affects us now. We're also reading a couple of stories from our listeners who commented on our Facebook post.
This week we explore the world of sex education (or puberty education depending on where you grew up).
We took a week off, but we're back now! Alex gives us a little synopsis of her Nashville trip, and other random topics include the Winter Olympics, a "Hard Left" from Vanessa.
This week, we're taking it all the way back to grade school. Remember school lunches, riding on the bus, RECESS?? Reminisce with us and some stories from our Facebook page.
This week we're trying out a new segment! The crock pot is asking questions without giving any hints to the other host beforehand.
What's your walk-up song? What party are you hosting? What makes you nostalgic? Do you believe in aliens or ghosts?
This week, the group talks about their holidays, and introduces a new segment "The hard left turn". Take a listen and you'll find out how hard of a left turn we took.
We know you're expecting this time of year to have an episode all about Christmas....and we deliver! Luckily it's not ALL about Christmas, as is the norm with us, we break off into other subjects and then make our way back to the original topic.
Trigger Warning and Content warning: This episode mentions negative body image, abuse, bullying, disordered eating and fat shaming.
Note: This week's episode was recorded over Zoom, and four people in a room can overwhelm a microphone. Apologies in advance for some loud moments.
On this week's episode, we continue our series that takes a personal look into the effects of negative body image relating to weight, fat shaming, and diet culture in our society.
On this episode, our own hosts Vanessa and Dave both share their own vulnerable journeys with this sensitive topic. Our goal is to continue talking about a subject that many experience but few feel comfortable discussing openly. So enjoy and listen with care.
This week we recorded our Facebook Live session where we opened the care package from Jamie. Things we tried included Marmite, Coleman's mustard paste, digestive biscuits, and REAL Cadbury chocolate. Things we didn't try were black pudding and Heinz Beanz. This video is available on our facebook change if you need to see the look on Erin's face after tasting the dreaded Marmite.
After the Facebook Live, we talked about a large assortment of subjects, almost too many to really list out here. Take a listen and find out for yourself!
This weeks SCR is all about awkwardness, and what to do when it's present.
Don't forget, you can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Patreon!
Today we have a special guest who was ready to jump in at a moment's notice. Since Dave was unable to record (COVID exposure, not positive but being safe), our friend Pez Davila stepped right in and had some hangout time! Take a listen as we talk about who Pez is and what he does, and how his Friendsgiving journey took an unexpected but successful turn (thanks to whoever the gate agent at Jet Blue was on Thanksgiving morning). We also talk about the necessities of thanksgiving dishes and a real "Minnesota Goodbye" recalling the events at one of Erin's more notable birthdays.
