I believe so strongly that there's nothing more important (or misunderstood,) than the cross of Jesus Christ! 

 Often times the cross gets a shout out during alter calls, but it's mostly sidelined for more "relevant" messages. Other places it gets loaded with so much negative theology that it ends up seeming like we need to be saved from God. 

For the next several weeks we will be focusing on showing off different angels of the crucifixion. There's no message more practical or life altering! The blood of Jesus speaks to your marriage, your business, your family, your mental health, your identity, your destiny, and so much more! 

This week we discuss how Jesus became our ransom, and broke our agreement with the spiritual forces of evil. When we partner with the truth, we are set free indeed!

One of the best forms of relationship advice you can receive is simply hearing someone else's story.

Did you know the word repentance isn't even in the Bible?! Yeah, I know it's in your English Bible, but it doesn't match the original languages. There is some absolutely fascinating and life giving beauty behind the Greek and Hebrew words for "repentance." Rather than a groveling payment for wrong doing, repentance is the dramatic shift in perception that causes us to change direction. This shift causes an epic overflow of the fruit of the Spirit in our lives!

But Jesus Christ is so much more than a new religion to follow. He offers intimate, dynamic friendship with a deeply personal, experiential God. What do Marie Kondo (superstar creator of the "Konmari Method") and Jesus Christ have in common? So much! While some might denounce the show as "unbiblical" nothing could be further from the truth!

Some of the very first things we learn about God is that he's a designer, a chef, and a builder. We learn about how creation itself is a house for God, built on a foundation of joy, rest, and order. God wasn't just content with a functional creation, it had to be beautiful too! We also learn how every detail of our lives carries spiritual significance.  When we are truly in tune with the Presence of God, our natural response is to bring everything around us into Divine Order. Every time we make something more beautiful, we are functioning in our original design as human beings.

How many of us cringe when someone says "I just need to be real for a minute!" We instinctively know we're about to be on the receiving end of verbal vomit. Yet how many of us also cringe around fake people? People who never let anyone see past their forced smile? The truth about you is that you are a brand new creation! A lot of what our culture celebrates as "authentic" is anything but! No matter what emotions or circumstances we face, our Union with Jesus Christ is the highest and deepest truth about us. At the same time, the church often penalizes people for going through hard times! They provide "fake it til you make it" solutions, without telling us who we really are. 

This week Mark and Cole dive into the tension between the New Creation realities given to us in Christ, and the apparent contradictions of human suffering. They also share practical advise for staying perpetually encouraged.
