The dream team is back! Borrowed Identity and his boyhood friend Mechanical Soul Brother have been doing hot sessions in their studio and the output is the fantastic „Return to yourself EP“. All tunes have a classic yet modern house flair. The A-side is full of groovy rhythms, deeeeeep basslines, splendid vocals and subtle acid lines - „just be yourself“ might even slightly recall Larry Heard/Mr. White’s „the sun can’t compare“! The club friendly b-side offers two versions of „point of no return“. The 2 am version has those old schoolish drums and some blissful sounds and voices, just the way we love it, whereas the 6am version is the more straight forward, catchy early morning groover. Intrinsically linked to his earlier Love Connection EP, Sequence 9 feels less like a follow-up rather than the other half of the Love Connection story. Adham Zahran continues to refine his distinctive blend of deep house, lo-fi electronica and understated groove, delivering a collection that's equally suited to solitary listening and the dancefloor's quieter moments.

Across the EP, warm analogue textures, restrained percussion and subtly evolving melodies create an atmosphere that draws the listener inward. There's movement without urgency, depth without excess. While rooted in deep house, Sequence 9 comfortably blurs the boundaries between IDM, ambient, acid, lo-fi and electronica, resulting in a record that rewards close listening as much as repeated plays.

Artist Bio:

Adham Zahran isn’t just another name in house music, he’s one of those producers who seems born to it. Hailing from Egypt and growing up in Alexandria, young Adham began his musical journey listening to lots of minimal and house before learning production and music theory. His sound is steeped in an affection for house in all its shades and his musical influences resonate mainly from the Detroit culture and sound. Artists like Kyle Hall, Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman.

Adham’s catalogue of music already reads like a tour through the underground. From Galaktika and Manuscript to Moodmusic, Oh! Records, Neovinyl and a string of others, Zahran has stamped his mark across labels that thrive on quality. Now, with the Lunar City EP on Dealt With Records, he continues that trajectory with a body of work that’s both accomplished and adventurous.

His aesthetic breathes a natural affinity for ‘80s electronica, reimagined through a Detroit house kaleidoscope. Synths from his Nord Lead A1 keyboard to his Novation launch pad and xl controller, these instruments acts as conduits of alchemy, coaxing out textures that bring collective goosebumps to the room. On stage, he’s proved himself just as fluid, sharing booths from Cairo to London, Paris to Brussels, with festival slots at Sandbox and Some Weekend, plus turns alongside Claptone at Someday Block Party and at We Play House in Brussels.
