V (formerly Eve Ensler) is the Tony Award-winning playwright, activist, performer, and author of the Obie award-winning theatrical phenomenon The Vagina Monologues, published in over 48 languages, performed in over 140 countries, discusses her most recent book, Reckoning, and how her life's work and healing from a life threatening illness has informed her and allowed her to "be in her body" and develop methods to thrive despite years of abuse and self-hatred. "Transforming pain into radical action", V discusses how her work and especially co-founding the City of Joy, a revolutionary center for women survivors of violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo mobilized her while healing from illness and the challenges of the cancer diagnosis.
