Premier David Eby condemned the U.S. government’s new 25% tariffs on Canadian goods as a “betrayal” and an “economic war” against a close ally.

In response, he ordered the BC Liquor Distribution Branch to stop purchasing American liquor from “red states,” directed crown corporations to prioritize Canadian goods and services, and fast-tracked $20 billion in private-sector projects to create 6,000 jobs.
