This is an adorable book about a journalist named Dirk Bones. He is investigating some strange noises that are scaring some poor ghosts. In the end, he figures it out and everyone is relieved.

My son loved this book!

My son loved this book! He loves mysteries, and anything creepy and ghoulish (but definitely NOT scary!). He read this book with confidence, and did the AR test with great results. :) I love any book that my boy loves! This book is rated as a 2.2 by the AR system-- my son is a first grader and a confident although not enthusiastic reader. I'm looking forward to the next Dirk Bones mystery!

The story is a little long, but my son really enjoys this book. Not too scary for little kids.

Spooky and Silly

My grandchildren and I enjoy a good mystery, and Doug Cushman is a super writer and illustrator of kids' books. We have four of his books, and I plan to buy more! This book looks at being scared by noises we can't identify in the dark. Helps kids to think about night noises and to find out what makes them - takes the scary out of the dark.

The perfect combo of an interesting story and pictures. A former student just loves monsters. This book is funny too. Lo and behold, the student-who-could-not-read learned to read this book cover to cover. Bravo to the author/illustrator. Write more!

Fun books for my little Granddaughters.

My nearly 4 year old daughter loves it!

After being introduced to Marley when we found a book at Goodwill, my daughter has really enjoyed him. So, when she had a chance to pick out a few books to buy with her own money, most of them featured Marley. None of them disappointed, including this one. She chooses it frequently, and I read it to her while she sits on my lap.

Mr. Putter entertains us all!

All the Mr. Putter and Tabby books are great. I was so happy to see a new one out. We have read them all over and over. They never get old. My daughter has loved them from 18 months old and my mother and I love to read them to her. Mr. Putter and Mrs. Teaberry are so sweet and their adventurs captivating. Don't forget Tabby and Zeke...they add to the humor and fun.

Great examples of friendship, caring and sharing.

Can't go wrong with Mr. Putter or Cynthia Rylant!
