Bunyanesque Allegory For All Ages

Nancy Lee clearly utilized her twenty-plus years of teacher experience and her love for children, as she put pen to paper and created this entertaining and thought-provoking allegory. Rebecca Riffey also demonstrated sensitivity and skill by harmonizing the illustrations with the text. I presented this book to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students and they received the symbolic message with understanding. My wife read this book to young mothers with children and they all loved it and wanted a copy to read and re-read to their sons and daughters. Wonderful first book from a wise author; I hope to see her publish many more books in the future.

Five Stars

Great story. I like how it uses other fairy tale characters in the story.

Want to Help Mr. Wolf Make Pancakes?

Fabulous book. Reminiscent of The Little Red Hen, this book brings in a variety of nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters. The ending is both surprising and hilarious! It's a hit with the kids.

Good 3rd grade reader

At an AR reading level of 3.4 this is a good picture book for a 3rd grader to read to themselves. I personally agree with some of the other reviews and I wouldn't choose to read this to the younger crowd(preschoolers).

If you are looking at this book to read to your daycare kids or in a group setting at a school, I would advice against it for under age 5, Some parents may not appreciate the morbid humor in the end.

3rd grade readers will find it humorous and enjoy reading about the wolf who makes the pancakes and then eats his guests. A play off of the Little Red Hen story.

Delightful book

I picked this book as a conclusion to a preschool unit on pancakes. What a delightful book. The students loved the fairy tale characters involved in the story and had fun making predictions about the end of the story. Excellent book for increasing language skills in youngsters. Parents enjoyed the book as well.

Five Stars

A cute story with a different twist to the ending.

Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny

Here we have a delightful book with pop up pictures.

These Rabbits have been around for over 100 years and still going.

To all the kids out there I say ask your parents,Uncles, Aunts, friends for Birthdays (and your never too old) for a Peter Rabbit book by Beatrix Potter book ,especially this version in Pop Up.

I have a full collection of the series by Beatrix Potter, to be able to now have him in pop up is just wonderful.

Beautifully presented .

Another Pop Up to add to my growing collection of Pop up books

What's not to Love

I got this book for some of my grandchildren twice. Once as a regular book and once as a pop-up book. They loved both and it is so fun to read to them. Peter Rabbit, of course, is the archetype of the naughty little boy seeking adventure, and that is why little children love this story, especially little boys. A cautionary tale indeed!

Just lovely....

Thanks to a newborn named Benjamin, I got to buy this book. I'm so glad I was able to go back to the world of childhood for a brief visit. It was lovely.

I like the concept- some of the Spanish translations pack an awful lot of syllables into the song, but you can make it work. We'll keep the book because my son likes the pictures, but it's really just an altered version of "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." I probably wouldn't have purchased it if I'd seen it in person, but it's not worth it to return. The quality of the book is very nice though.

helpful?

The basic teachings are sound, although very limited in its application.

It is hard to listen to the same introduction for 1 ? min.

I take objection to his suggestion that others do not want us to know these things and the suggestion that one learns so that we can challenge and beat the teacher in front of the rest of the class. This is likely to annoy the teacher and so hinder the child?s progress.
