    A great listen
I had high hopes for his book, as the first in the series - 'Wired Kingdom' was such a good story and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I was hooked from the first chapter, it has great characters, it's fun, interesting and makes you think. The end was good but shocking. The detail was just right. If you are looking for an intelligent, fun, well written thriller then this is the book for you.
David Gilmore does a wonderful job of bring the characters and locations to life.

    A bit convoluted
Would you try another book from Sophie Hannah and/or Julia Barry?
The narration was good, with excellent voices.
Would you be willing to try another book from Sophie Hannah? Why or why not?
The story dragged on a little and was quite a complicated story. However, it was gripping at times.
What does Julia Barry bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She brings the characters to life very well.
Did The Other Half Lives inspire you to do anything?
    No
    Read them in order!
I've done my usual and read this particular series out of order, don't make the same mistake as me, as it is quite relevant to the two main characters.
A couple are considering getting married, but decide they must be completely honest about their lives before they met. The girl is understandably gutted when the guy admits to killing a woman. Did he really do it, or is there a cover up going on?
One of the best Sophie Hannah books
Where does The Other Half Lives rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This is one of me favourite audiobooks, I loved the story already but the reader was great and I was totally hooked.
What other book might you compare The Other Half Lives to, and why?
I really enjoy all of the simon Waterhouse series by Sophie Hannah but this has been one of the best, I've read it multiple times and still didn't want to stop listening to this!
Have you listened to any of Julia Barrys other performances? How does this one compare?
I've got another of Julia Barry's performances to listen to and am excited to start it as her tone was great and she made the characters much fuller.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listen as I drive and this was one where I would sit on the drive and finish the chapter before getting out!
    Really enjoyed this
Well written and couldn't wait to go to bed to listen to it there! (Think I went early one night just so I could)
    Improved by Julia Barry
Where does The Other Half Lives rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Fairly average simply because it is made complicated by the constant 'scene changes'. I kept listening because I enjoyed the narration so much.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Nothing comes to mind in either case.
Which character as performed by Julia Barry was your favourite?
    Ruth Bussey
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Not at all!

Amazing story & Dove for narrator, genius!!
I have listened to many stories told by Eric Dove so his voice is familiar to me. For this story, and always really, I love his voice and in this instance he really nailed the main characters voice for me. Amazing.
I am new to this author and with his first novel I am a big fan. This story grips you from the beginning.and takes you for a ride that is graphic and spellbinding. I've chosen to follow this author so that I will be notified of any new novels he creates, and am anxiously waiting for another!!!!!!! Kudos

A gritty thriller set in the world of powerful New York law firms, from Nick Santora, writer of the hit crime dramas The Sopranos, Law and Order, Prison Break, and Breakout Kings, and the nationally best-selling author of Slip and Fall.
Is it really insider trading if you've been an outsider your entire life?
Five men. Five walks of life. Every day they come together at the white shoe law firm Olmstead & Taft. But they're not lawyers. They're "Printers": blue-collar guys consigned to the dark basement of the firm and charged with copying, collating, and delivering the mountains of paperwork that document millions of dollars of sensitive legal secrets.
Until, that is, the five are approached by an ambitious young attorney who teaches them what they have: insider information. Together they make a plan: take the classified documents that pass through their hands every day and use them to get rich. They create a joint account to deposit the spoils. An account with a safeguard - each one only knows one section of the access code, which means that for all five conspirators, there's no way out. But as too much money piles up to go unnoticed, the Printers will discover there's one thing even worse than being an outsider: being in too deep.
    Critic Reviews:
"The tension is palpable as very bad things begin to happen to the protagonists, and the reader will race through the book to see what horrors the next page brings." (Booklist)
"Fifteen Digits reads like John Grisham and Martin Scorsese's nasty love child. Brimming with unique, indelible characters, it's a cautionary tale of greed, jealousy and vice." (Shawn Ryan, Creator and Executive Producer of The Shield)

    a good story
This story was good to excellent, spoiled by a poor performance of the reader. Please listen before you buy. As to story: a group who work together decide to steal money, which they do with some facility. Eventually the SEC comes calling and greed takes its toll.
The narrator paused a LOT. He grouped words unusually and then paused between them. I had to try not to listen to him or it drove me nuts. I am not usually critical of the reader, but this one gave me fits.
The book itself is worth your time, but the narrator might put you off.
15 Digits Rates 4 Stars Overall
I enjoyed this book. The story kept my interest and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. It's not going to go down as a literary masterpiece but it wasn't meant to be. I typically listen to audiobooks during workouts and while driving and I found that I was always ready to push play and get back into the story.
David Collins did a good job with the narration. Each character had a distinct voice that I recognized immediately. I hold back a couple of stars on the story because I think the book ended a little too easily, a little to abruptly. But overall, if you're looking for a light story to "get away" for a bit I think this one is OK.
    Very Slow
Having trouble getting into this one - finished the 1st half and nothing has really happened. Don't know if I'll listen to the 2nd half of not.
    15 Digits, 1 Star
f you get past my review, get ready for a cast of stereotypes (many of them racist).

    Members Reviews:
    A good listen...
The portrail of the 8yr old daughter was so spot on I wanted to climb into the book and shake the girl into reality.... I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster, I raged at the media, feared the unknown and was intrrigued by the storyline.
    Goodness me NO!
I have enjoyed most of Lisa Scottoline's books before this one - but I really couldn't stomach it past the first few chapters. The characters were just behaving in a nonsensical way - if your child was injured in a fire - you would not rush into a hospital and scream at another person - laying the blame at their door.
If your own child was in a place of danger you wouldn't even think twice, you would go and try to save them, you wouldn't dither and make a decision as to whether or not you could save this one or that one, you would yell to someone - 'see these kids out - I am going to get my daughter!'. Definitely not for me - total rubbish, and so disappointing!
On top of the dopey story - the voice of the narrator seemed to be in a depressing minor key, I found this annoying before I started to get even MORE annoyed by the story.
A Waste of a couple of hours, and a waste of a valuable credit!

Very enjoyable read, tough to put down.
First, I would like to say that I knew nothing of Tom MacDonald before I read this book. I had only recently gotten my Kindle before downloading this as a cheap "download of the month" deal. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The story moves. Simply put, it keeps the reader engaged by constantly keeping the reader on his toes - new tidbits of information in the investigation. You feel like you could be in the protagonist's shoes, right there with him as he's searching for clues.
I usually read novels by Vince Flynn or Tom Clancy, the political/action thriller, so this is a bit of a new one for me. The thing I do like about this book, though, when compared to theirs is the length. You don't need to invest weeks of valuable time into this book to get the satisfaction of finishing it. It was a rather brief read compared to those others (not that I'm complaining about the others). It's just nice to read a shorter story every once in a while.
The reasons I'm only giving it 4 stars: First, a very small complaint. The author used "clip" instead of magazine (or mag) when describing the carrying device for a handgun's ammo. Not a big deal, but I'm sure other gun enthusiasts noticed. Second, I feel like the author's sense of time was a bit off. There were a few instances where characters would do something, make some tea for instance, and the tea was done after only one or two comments. There were a few more times in the book where this happened too and I just thought, "That takes more than 30 seconds for me". Not a very big deal, but I think it would be a little more realistic if the timing was a bit different. Third, it was a bit slow to start, but I easily got into the book about 20% in. There was a flurry of characters jumping into the story and you felt the same sense of overwhelming that the protagonist did: Who are all these people and what do they want with me? After about halfway through the book, though, most of them disappear. It was kind of disappointing to not hear from these characters for the last half of the book when they had so much potential for trouble. Some of their absence is explained but I think the story would have benefited a little more had they played a bigger role (McGrew, the IRA, ect.).
All in all a very good book.

    Perfect holiday listen
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Easy listening. I also enjoyed the story unfolding chapter by chapter and that there were not too many characters to keep track of. For me this audio book made for great holiday listening - no brainer stuff.
Karen Cass has become my favourite narrator. She differentiates the characters really well with changes in tone and accent, which makes listening very smooth.
Which character as performed by Karen Cass was your favorite?
The main character, Genevieve, is my favourite. I think she also did really well with Dylan - to convey his frostiness.
    Unexpected
I was disappointed with this for one reason; the synopsis suggested a compelling murder mystery but what I actually got was a variation on the classic "chick-lit".
If you like chick-lit, you'll love this book. It has all the ingredients of this genre, and once I realised what I'd got and decided to listen to it for what it was, I did quite enjoy it. The narrator is perfect for this kind of book, but wouldn't sit right with a darker murder mystery.
I have rated it with only three stars because it is not what the synopsis suggests, but as a novel of its type it is an entertaining listen.
    revenge of the tide
    Tedious
First time I have heard of this author and was bored from beginning to half way through the audiotape. In fact I did not finish it,despite buying it as an extra,as I had used up my credits for the month
Pole Dancing, Barge Boats and Gangsters
After reading Elizabeth Haynes debut novel 'Into the Darkest Corner' I was looking forward to trying her other books - I had an audible credit so I purchased 'Revenge of the Tide' on audio.
Firstly the narration is very good, Karen Cass does an excellent job.
Secondly I have to disagree with other reviewers this wasn't chick lit, it just wasn't a detective thriller. Okay so it is nowhere near as pacey or heart pounding as Haynes first novel but it's still good.

    Great Civil War History-Mystery
Would you listen to A Voice from the Grave again? Why?
I think once was enough for me.
What other book might you compare A Voice from the Grave to and why?
It's not a typical mystery thriller with a current or on-going murder spree. This tells the story in current time, unravelling the mysteries at an archeological dig; and then back in time, as the events were happening at Andersonville.
What aspect of Diana Andrades performance would you have changed?
... Weeelll, she was a little toooo sloooow to listen too. She had such a slow southern drawl that you could lose track of the story line as she was getting to the end of a sentence. The story would have been just as powerful, just as suspenceful if she had stepped up the pace a bit ... y'all.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not extreme, but it made me look up some factual info on the actual Andersonville and read more about the Civil War in general.
    Any additional comments?
Strong women have always wanted to contribute to military service any way they could, even if it meant disguising themselves to do it. I think they were brave precursors to the WACS & WAVES of WWII.
    Interesting History, Predictable Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
While I enjoyed some of the historical details about the Andersonville Camp and the lives of the Civil War Soldiers, many of the contemporary elements (including the mystery) felt incredibly telegraphed. It was easy to guess the elements of the mystery, and the dialogue was exposition heavy at points.
    Any additional comments?
There were some great details and moments described during the Civil War portions of the book, and the author clearly knows how to set a stage. That said, the mystery elements just didn't work for me personally.
    Good Story, Bad Narrator
This is a well-researched story that works well for fans of the time period (Civil War). However, the narrator sounds like she's reading to a kindergarten class and it's just too hard to get past. Ok, I'm not a southerner, but do all people of the old south speak so slowly they sound lobotomized? And do all southern women have to sound like little girls?
I'd say read this book rather than listen to this version.
    Secrets live forever
What did you like best about A Voice from the Grave? What did you like least?
This book offered me a real unsanatized version of what Prisioners os war endured dung the civil war.

    Release date: 12-29-11
    Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 8 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
A woman is watching a report on television of the death of a mother and daughter; apparently both had died at the mother's hand. Also on the screen is the surviving member of the family, a widower described as Mark Bretherick. Watching with her husband, the woman, Sally, has to bite back the words that spring to her lips: this man is not Mark Bretherick! How does she know? Because she had enjoyed a brief sexual affair with the real possessor of that name some time before - an affair (needless to say) she has not revealed to her husband. Sally is forced to hang on to her secret, and she anonymously informs the police that all is not as it appears to be in this case.
It is Sally's plight that so comprehensively engages the reader here, but readers of the earlier books by Sophie Hannah will be pleased to note the reappearance of her reliable copper Simon Waterhouse, who ensures that the sequences involving the investigation are quite as compelling as the those of a woman desperately trying to keep her indiscretion secret (while doing the right thing).

    Gripping and convoluted thriller
Where does The Point of Rescue rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Its up there towards the top along side Sophie Hannah's other books.
What other book might you compare The Point of Rescue to, and why?
Sophie Hannah's other books- I LOVE her characters- they are so flawed, bonkers, loveable, annoying, believable, charming, vile and understandable. I also love that the police people are the same in all her books- yet the stories concentrate on the crime/mystery.
Have you listened to any of Charlotte Strevenss other performances? How does this one compare?
Her reading is excellent because I don't notice it- I just get the story- no irritating ticks or pronunciations.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was horrified by the episode in the locked room with the dressing gown- awful....
    Any additional comments?
Keep them coming Sophie Hannah- they are wonderful stories....
    Well Thought Out
This is the first time I've read anything by Sophie Hannah and I found it quite interesting. Most crime novels are written from the perspective of a single detective, or possibly a team, but Hannah bounces back and forth between first person narrative by the victim and third person for the detective team. It opens up the story and challenges the reader to view things from different perspectives. This does, however, mean that you have to pay attention to the story or you will be lost. I found it also made it difficult for me to connect with the characters, which means that the strength of the book is also it's weakness.
The plot is all rather complicated and well thought out. Hats off to Hannah for that. It's not a predictable story line and takes a lot of twist and turns that makes it all a bit confusing, until you think about it a bit. I wish Audible allowed for half stars because I would have liked to give it three and a half. The only reason I felt that it didn't merit four (I rarely rate things 5 stars and then only when I absolutely can't put the book down) is because of my difficulty in connecting with the characters and a little bit because of the narrator. What Charlotte Strevens read well, she lacks in versatility when it comes to voicing the characters.
