    Publisher's Summary:
Grace Coulter has been hiding in the kitchen of her family restaurant since she was eight years old. That's when the name-calling began. Stretch, skinny-minny, boy in girl's clothes, all because of the slender height that had her towering over even the tallest boys in the class.
Now, nearly thirty years later, Grace is head chef of the failing restaurant and still hiding in the kitchen. Like many businesses during the current recession, Coulter's may have to start laying off employees or even close. But Grace has a plan to save the restaurant and the people she's known all her life; a plan that will force her to go out into the world and face her fears.

    Lovely
Loved this Novella. Listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it. A light, good quality read with endearing characters... And food! Audiobook is well done and the different character are wonderfully done!
    A Slice of Life
What made the experience of listening to A Slice of Life the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed this story because I can relate to the main character's shyness.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hank the bus driver was my favorite character because he seemed to be such a nice guy.
What aspect of Gail Shalans performance would you have changed?
Although Gail Shalan's narration was okay, I didn't particularly like her voice.
A short story with a wonderful message
Disclosure: I received this audiobook as part of a promotion on Goodreads
As I listened to this novella, I thought about how I wish I'd heard this story as an adolescent. Like the main character, Grace, I was gawky and shy growing up. In this story, Grace begins to shed her gawkiness by starting a project she feels passionately about and interacting with others who help her feel more socially adept. It's a short story with a wonderful message, and a great reminder that feeling shy doesn't need to hold a person back from achieving their dreams.
    Recovery from fear
A study of a woman and a little girl who have been traumatized by cruel people and circumstances.

    Bestselling New Adult Title!
Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little undercover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heartache.
So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't - or perhaps won't - take a hint.
Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hellbent at keeping people at a distance.
Before long, neither is sure who is catching who - or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy catching, it could also break her heart.
Recommended for ages 17+ for language and sexual content.

If you're a romance junkie like me...buy the book!
I PROMISE without a doubt that Catching Liam is ABSOLUTELY SWOON-WORTHY AMAZINGNESS!!! I am officially a fan of this author. Marian Hussey did a fantastic job narrating this book as well. Honestly, I had expected the same old New Adult Romance that is so over done nowadays with average writing and the same plot-line with boring drama or over the top angst. Instead, I found a refreshing heartwarming love story that captivated me. I highly recommend this audio to listeners who appreciate a story with a bit more substance. This book touches on a important subject matter which I won't reveal, that shares an inspiring lesson about never giving up on life. This book has great dialogue, well-developed characters, and an interesting unpredictable story line. Catching Liam has fun quirky moments, insightful subject matter (sorry to be vague but I don't want to spoil anything important), and of course intense sexual chemistry (alright, the sex was sizzling hot) The entire book just flowed at a perfect pace and I devoured the whole thing in one day!
The plot began with Jillian Nichols waking up one morning after a one night stand, the last thing she expects, to find Mr. one night stand (Liam) naked & cooking waffles in her kitchen. Liam McAvoy is what you would consider to be "the perfect book boyfriend" and the complete opposite of the typical tattooed bad boy player found in most NA romance books. Jillian is a strictly love'em and leave'em girl. She doesn't do relationships, it's all about the catch them for the night and release them the next morning! She never gets attached because relationships break your heart, especially when her secret may become revealed whether she wants it to or not. It quickly becomes apparent that Liam never intends this to be just a one night stand with Jillian. He makes his intentions pretty clear and continues to be persistent in pursuing her.

    Paradise
I really liked this novel about new found love with suspense and romance. It was a sweet story of a young woman who was grieving for her mom for five years and then decided to go on with her life and live again. Anna got the incentive when she started falling for a customer who kept coming into her dad's wholesale tool chain store,Dylan, in the small town of Paradise. Little did she know that same guy was obsessed with her and that is why he came into their store to see her. He was recovering from a loveliness marriage and bitter divorce never thinking he would find love again. It is about finding love and trusting someone enough to give them your heart with a little suspense thrown in. I would have liked to have s story written about Dylan's partner, Mitchell and Anna's friend, Mel. They were also interesting characters. This was a great hot love story that will touch your heart.
I love the Paradise Series - Give Us More!!!!
I love this series and I love that there are NO CLIFFHANGERS!!!
This was a HOT ...HOT story....and I really loved the characters and how they entered into this book. They were so much fun. I can't wait to see their story unfold. How about Anna's Dad having a story, too???
As always, I am amazed at how talented MS. HART is. I love all her books. They are so fresh and exciting with Great Characters and the story is fun.
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
    HAPPY READING MY BOOK FRIENDS......
Paradise Disguised worth every minute of reading.
I always love Liliana Hart's books. This one is just as good as every other book of her's I have read. This is not too deep, just enough surprises to keep you wanting to keep reading and fun and enjoyable. There is enough spice to make it a fun read. Thank you Liliana. Can't wait for your next book.
    Hot book!
Book was great. Once you started reading was hard for put it down. The character of Anna was great and believable. The story line was simple and not all over the place and the sex scenes were hot and not overboard. Loved this book.
    Nice, short & sweet story
I was worried that this would end in a cliffhanger since its the first of a series, but was pleasantly surprised. It was a short light read. There wasn't too much back and forth on feelings, although I was almost at my limit in patience with Anna and her running.

The Conclusion to a Great Love Story....
    First thoughts:
WoW! OMG! I loved this book, I didn't even think it was possible to love this book as much as the first two. I read this in a mere of hours, not wanting to put the book down, needing to see the conclusion to the fate of the character's I love so much. And what supriesed me the most in the book was that I really fell in love with Patrick. He was such an asset in this book, he definately stole some limelight now and then. I was very much satisfied with the ending and thought the outcome was what needed to be. The feeling of the book was much lighter than the first two (I even found myself breathing more often in this book than the others). I loved the full transformation of the character and there were many, I really loved the fact that they were slower, more understandable( I mean people don't change over night, am I right?) I really enjoyed how this book was separated, I didn't feel out of sorts, being yanked from one scene to another, it was nice and steady, action here and there and a pause. I absolutely loved the flow of this book, the smoothness of it, it really was something you could sit back and read and be relaxed(though at times I was at the edge of my seat, cringing on the purposed outcome) But in overall view the plot was plucked and perected to the tee and every leaf was unturned.
    Summary:
Bryn and William finally think they can have it all; the council has finally granted a union between Byrn and a Hayward. But soon rumors fly that It's Bryn and Patrick that's going to be engaged. While oblivious to the rumors William is on cloud nine but after not only hearing the newest rumors she learned of a secret Patrick has kept from Bryn.
Bryn is on the ride of a lifetime as she races against all odds and finds her way into Union with William. She will stop at nothing to have him with her and while the others are after her she will fight to the death to make what's wrong right. But will Bryn and William see the day they will finally be united? Will they lose it all just to have each other?
    Last thoughts:
Really thought out, the ending was perfect, the whole story was beautiful. I hate to let go of this world, just being new to it all but all great things must come to an end; that I do realize. But I do hope to perhaps see a prequel to this series, because the masterful and creative world Nicole has created shouldn't be wasted. I definately wouldn't mind seeing this world again, even if it means being in the perspective of someone else.

    Really good...
I really really like this. I actually got this before AOP... and I am so glad I did. I would have never got this if I listen to AOP first. Lindsey is a great great character and so is Rhys. I love how Rhys comes to get his girl in the end.
    Good credit.
    Narration was awesome
    It's official I Love L D Davis!
Ok first I was hesitant to buy the audio book because... Well... Ok...I'm a minutes snob even though I loved AOP, this book is just short of 5 hours and I am usually reluctant to used my credit on anything shorter than 8 hours. Well I have to say I'm glad I went outside my comfort zone because this book is awesome and boy oh boy a lot was packed into that 4 plus hours. I laughed, got teary eyed and thought about waking my husband out of a sound sleep to give me some! What more can a girl ask for? Serena Daniels narrates again and of course did a outstanding job. Now what I'm I gonna do till the next book is written? Sigh...
    Fantastic
Oh my god, this book was so good, so funny. I kept laughing at all the crazy things in the book. if looking for a good laugh, this is a good book for it.
So wrong on so many levels
This book had a lot of promise and I was looking forward to it. Then I begun to read/listen to it. Oh my word! BOOOYAH! Seriously, some of the catch phrases used in this book was funny the first time but got very freaking annoying the next several times of it being said back to back. Fo shiz.....are we not adults in this book?!?! This writing style would of been completely fine if this book was based on TEENAGERS! But since we were suppose to be reading about adults it made them just look plain ole stupid in ignorant. With that being said, if you can over look this words that distract from the story then it would be an okay read. My other main problem was that nothing was ever really "talked" about. You was left to feel in the blanks on almost every conversation in the book and on the majority of the characters. This book was not well thought out or planned. One second we are in the bed having sex next we started a whole new life and is currently about to get in bed with another person. Where was the heartbreak and emotion? Where was the things that she went threw to get to that point or stage. It just did not flow well and felt like huge chunks where missing. I had the kindle version as well as the audio and the audio did skip parts of the kindle version. But still pieces was missing. This is the second book by this writer, the first book it took me a few try's to get into but then I grew to love it so I gave this one a shot even knowing I did not like the narrator. This will also be my last book by the writer and narrator.

Suspense with a little Romance on the side
I bought this because I live near the Smoky Mountains and I am always interested to see if the author who writes about it does it justice. I am pleased to say that this author did a fantastic job of not only capturing the area, but the people who live in this area. Unfortunately, Mrs.Graves is right about the complacency for safety precautions of people who live in small towns. I liked the twists and the turns in the plot. I do not typically read Harlequin Intrigue. While I do not need sex for a book to be complete I have to say that I really, really wish these two had been able to seal that particular deal because you could feel each of their frustations so keenly. So I deducted one star for lack of fulfillment on their part : ) However, I read the book in one sitting so it whole heartedly deserves 4 stars.
First in the Bitterwood P. D. series
Paula Graves writes realistic contemporary crime novels sweetened by romance. Her heroes and heroines are frequently in law enforcement of some kind, either working for government agencies or private protection services. This series takes place in the small town of Bitterwood, Tennessee, nestled in the Smokey Mountains. As with most small towns of any age, there are plenty of secrets, lots of gossip, and young adults who left to find their fortunes elsewhere, but drawn home by other forces. One of the things I love about Paula Graves's books is how she weaves elements of past novels into the new, so that the reader feels the continuity of life and love and family, and those elements are here again in this new series. I highly recommend that readers new to Paula Graves go back and read her previous series, just for the shear joy of it. I'm hooked, and I hope you get the same pleasure!
    very very good read
Very good book, will buy more from this author
    GREAT BOOK
I've been reading Paula Grave' s books for a long time and as usual this one hooked me right away. The characters were interesting and the story kept me guessing right til the end. Can't wait for the next in the series!
    Intrigue yes, romance?
This is a new author for me. Not really impressed for 2reasons. First the story does not end with questions answered, but leads the reader to buy the next book. Second as far as the romance goes, not much there but a lot of introspection and pulling away. I have read the reviews of her other books and find similar opinion of the romance aspect of her stories.

    Members Reviews:
    More Soap Opera than Romance
This is one of the author's earlier works and not one of her romantic suspense offerings. As a romance it had great potential, however, it misses the mark a bit. It reads more like a soap opera with much angst, wringing of hands, secret pregancies, thin plot and sterotypical characters. The narrator reads the dialogue in a highly melodramatic, soap opera style also.
The title is also a misnomer. I chose this book partly because I enjoy miltary romances. This isn't one. The "soldier" in question is merely a plot device to separate the two halves of the book. The hero, a teen in the first half of the book, runs away to join the military in order to have him return in the second half as an adult. That's where the "soldier" aspect begins and ends. If you are looking for a military romance a la Stephanie Tyler or Suzanne Brockmann - you won't find here, despite the book's title.
On the whole, it wasn't the worst romance I've ever listened to, but it lacks the author's later style and sophistication. It's OK to listen to whilst doing chores but it won't keep you up all night finishing it.
Written from the perspective of a 70 year woman
What would have made He's My Soldier Boy better?
The characters could have had a sense of humour - not one funny word spilled from their fictitious mouths. Words like 'skinflint' died in the Victorian era and should probably stay there unless of course you're writing a Victorian story.
What could Lisa Jackson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Write it funnier, it's a romance, funny men are sexy - brooding is hot but without funny its just...eh.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kate Rudd?
Kate Rudd sounds takes great effort to emphasise every word she's speaking it comes off sounding automated. The Midwest accent is always a tough one to listen to - if I was picking someone to read my books - I'd pick James Franco :)

One Night With a Billionaire: The Perfect Man
Although we're back into very sexy and romantic area, I enjoyed this book greatly and look forward to more of the same. I hope this will become a series like the cowboy series that I loved. It's enjoyable to continue with the same as Ms. Thompson's cowboy series. Would recommend this to relatives and friends.
    Always a good read
This short story, that spins off of two others is a perfect example of Viki Lewis Thompson's writing, she can spin a tale that gets you so involved with the characters that you feel like you know them personally. Love everything that she has ever written, and will recommend her books to anyone who wants a great read.
This Story , like the other two, stand alone beautifully.
    Damn Novela!
Loved the book. Just felt it needed a longer story. The ending was to dry and vanilla. Otherwise, its a 5 star review.
    perfect hot read.
Keeps your attention, could not put it down .had a wonderful story, the kind every woman dreams of. I was lucky to have in my life that kind of caring man who made all my dreams come true,he was not rich, but he gave me every thing else.he is now deceased but the memories he left me are wonderful. This book is definitely a five star read!
I am a fan Of VickiLewis Thompson
I read all three stories and love them. I have read all her werewolf books also and love the way she incorporates the characters into the other stories. I love that this cowgirl falls for a business billionaire. She thinks she is not for him and he proves to her that she is the only one for him.

    Must Read
I have been an Abby Gaines fan since I read her first book, and have loved them all. This one is totally different from any of the others I have read. Jane, a nice girl who grew up in a small town where her family had a terrible reputation, had moved to Denver and left her past behind. Her best friend Lissa had married Kyle, the son of a policeman, and whose entire family was very "correct" and despised Jane's entire family. After her divorce from Kyle, Lissa was killed in a wreck, and had left a written request for Jane to help Kyle with his daughter Daisy as he took sole custody after the death of her mother. Jane despised Kyle as much as he despised her, but for the sake of her best friend's child, Jane agreed to come back to her home town for a few weeks to help Daisy adjust to her new life. There is a lot of tension throughout the whole book as Jane endures the animosity of the entire town as she helps Daisy come out of her shell. I could not put the book down, and highly recommend it.
    very good
Enjoyed this book about real life issues thar occur in families and small town life. Following along with Kyle, Jane and Daisy as they learn how to deal with those problems, learning to trust and love again was enlightening.
    Wonderful!
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Once I started reading it, I had to keep reading until I finished the book.
