A short read about a great man.

This short book is written for children, but I enjoyed it myself. Dr. Seuss books have always appealed to me in both the areas of art and word. It was gratifying to read about the creator behind the nonsense. "Nonsense wakes up the brain cells." Anyone who believes this is someone I like knowing.

Written for kids, Enjoyed by this adult

As a former teacher who shared many of Seuss' books with my students and own children.it was a fun read telling some of the background of his books. i enjoyed the sketches and photos as it brought him to life.

Life of Dr. Seuss

Even though this book is for kids, I found it very informative and like the way it is written. I think being advertised for kids, it should have more pictures though.

Boring and leaves lots of unanswered questions.

Only three pictures in the book and not very complete or well edited content. Does not do Dr Seuss justice.

Would Recommend, Good Book for Children

Very good book to read to your children. My wife loved hearing this story when she was little. I never heard of it until just last year when she told me about it. We gave the book to one of our friends who just has a baby and she loves reading the book to her son. If you want a good children's book, I would recommend the Velveteen Rabbit.

That first chapter I heard was beautiful.

I listened to the Audio supplied on one of the Amazon pages for the book. Bought as a baby shower gift. Have not had the pleasure of reading it personally. I am considering buying a copy just for my own personal satisfaction. That first chapter I heard was beautiful.

Heartwarming.

Even though I did not have this book as child, I had heard of it and wanted to know the story. I was afraid it would break my heart, but instead it brought me peace. I, too, have always wanted to be "real" but didn't know it's real meaning. Now I do.

The perfect children's book of all time!

This book, of all children's books, is one of the very best. It is touching and teaches unconditional love. I can remember my own very special stuffed animal, Puppy, and, in fact, I still have him. The love and connection a child has for his very first stuffed toy is something that remains throughout their lives and gives them a sense of comfort and safety. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child, or knows a child, or who was a child, and that pretty much includes everyone.

I enjoyed the short story

I did not read the first book in the series. The teddys experience their first halloween. I enjoyed the short story, and I'm glad Tiffany got to make new friends. One note is I felt the word "emanated" seemed a little out of place for a children's book.

I think this story about Pink Bears that think there all grown up in Jr. high.The cover was awesome Congrats to the Artist very colorful COVER that's what attracts the readers that is far as it goes as far as story line.I could not get into this one confusing to me.The book targeted 1-5 elementary school children.But the font and lineage was a lot of wording and inside of story in other words Newspaper structured more for 6-8th grades Jr. High instead of Elementary School.Advice to author slow down I know a lot of you author s typing at the speed of light to fast for brain to react.Reread or go over what you just typed that will help a lot.You did wonderfully on the Cover.This Elementary and secondary school AGES.But did not see anything out of order or edgy or vulgarity.RATE ALL AGES.HAPPY HALLOWEEN Chris Or Pamela.

A fun Halloween tale for kids & family

Note: Even though this is Book 2 in the series, it works fine as a stand alone.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and when I saw Justin Sloan had a Teddy Defenders book set on this holiday, I couldnât turn it down. Itâs Halloween night and Rick and his little sister Tiffany are getting dressed up to go Trick-or-Treating. Meanwhile, the Teddy Defenders alternate between playing deaf and dumb cute toys and discussing the fun of being taken out with the kids on this fun night. However, things donât go as they planned. Mia, Tiffanyâs Teddy Defender, and her friends are able to move around more freely on this night because of all the costumes. The illustrated Little Mermaid

Mermaids have always been my passion and collection (not sure why). When I was a little girl my favorite comic book was about a mermaid called Merna the Mermaid, when ever I read this comic I use to say I wanted to grow up to be a mermaid. Well, you can imagine why that didn't happen but when the story of "The Little Mermaid" came out, it peaked my interest even more. Now I collect everything that has to do with mermaids. The story of the little mermaid is a great story and Disney made it's version even better. Although I am not so much into the cartoon version anymore I still add to my collection and I will never let go of my book "The Little Mermaid"!

I knew I was getting a used book so I expected to not be perfect however there was writting in it that was covered up with a white sticker and the binding was a bit loose that was not quite described. It's no so bad as I can tell it was well loved by the previous owner

Timeless Story

Great story - never grows old. Read to my 7 yr old twin nephews before we headed out to Copenhagen this summer. They loved book and seeing Little Mermaid in person.

Very Cute and Entertaining

This was a neat and short children's title with a cute adventure story. It's short, simple, and perfect for a long drive with kids. Adults will enjoy it as well.

The short story centers around the main character, a young boy, who decides he is going to live on an island with no adults. It's the classic children's story with a good plotline and characters.

The narrator was very good and perfect for young listeners. I'd like to hear him do an adult book as well.

Kid Island Was A Cute Story

Kid Island was a good listen. I waited until my grandchildren visited to listen with them and it was unanimously good. The ages were all above the 5-7 range. I fast-forwarded through the part of the beginning where the will and the loss of a grandparent was talked about. It's basically dependent on what someone is comfortable with their kids hearing. Aside from that the story was super cute and fun.

David Kresser did a fine job narrating. He had good voice inflection that were entertaining and fun. He was also easy to understand and follow. Great job.

I think we all want to escape to our own tropical island. Jackson's family owns an island and he invites other children to stay with him. "Kids only". Of course, Cause it would be boring to stay alone .... Or only with one or two people.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favorite character. The characters and story was fun, but too light and brief for connections.

What about David Kressers performance did you like?

David read whimsically, as though he was reading to a child. I liked that.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was a very short listen, with simple chapters; easy to listen at one time.

I'm not too old for this...

I have never read a book from the perspective of cats before, but I guess this is a popular thing now. I must say, I was skeptical at the start, but after a few pages, I was totally into it! I never thought I'd care so much about the fate of a group of fictional felines haha.

As a side note, this book will appeal to adult cat-lovers and kids who love cats (probably ~age 9 and up).

A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE

Amazing story! The author takes the reader into the world of cats, deep inside. I love the scene where Hattie was born. The detailed descriptions paint pictures with words. The story, itself, is full of imagination. The writer takes you deep inside the world of feral cats. The characters are interesting and wild. But some of the cats want to go live with the humans and live a life of domestication, but this is discouraged in the feral cat world. But Hattie is curious and daring. Fascinating read that takes you on a journey full of contrasts and survival.

Fantastic story with fascinating characters!

I was recommended this book by a friend and after reading it I can see why. It's full of wonder and adventure for kids and even some wit that adults can enjoy! For anyone looking for something refreshing and new (not to mention cheap) to read, this book is a great choice. The characters are intriguing and the plot keeps a good pace all throughout, I could barely put it down. I look forward to more from Lily Pickles!

The author of this book is quite an amazing story teller. We run a Lice Clinic of America and have this book on hand for the kids to read while getting deloused and they LOVE it. It is a cute book and makes the whole process better. This is my favorite Lice themed book and just love anything by David Shannon

I bought this book because in pre-school my daughter brought home head lice a lot of times. I would have the mother louse lay her eggs on MY HEAD.! It was awful! The washings, the putting blankets, coats and hats into black plastic bags and the feelings of shame.

This book has it all! It brings all those memories back to me. When my daughter has her first child, I will give the book to her. Imagine this as the first book given to a grandchild!

It is funny and makes you itch.

No household with kids in elementary school in America should be without this book!

I have been itching to write a review of this book. First the illustrations are humorous and colorful. When plagued by lice besides getting treatment this book will be a good tool to deal with a situation that is total void of humor. I need to get to know other works by David Shannon, this work has great promise.
